  • nice footage

  • To mich pixsils

  • omg if you listen properly you can totally hear it, it is really there

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • At the time the RAF confirmed it wasn't a boat or submarine but was an animal larger than than any animal recorded in Loch Ness

  • @Terratrema:

Smart-ass, it's called Crypto Zoology, it's not magical, it's the study of HIDDEN and scientifically UNPROVEN creatures, which is why they're called 'cryptids.'

  • Even though this film was later (accidentally) shown to be a boat, it's still better than the videos of waves and bubbles that we get today. I'm not sure today what Nessie really is (or was) but as I get older I think less and less that if she ever was there, that she still is. That being said I would still love to go there myself someday and have a look. Regardless, its a gorgeous place.

  • @selmalover Seriously? Wow. Looks like I have a new trophy holder for "Biggest Troll". It was proven to be a boat. Several years ago. Go look the contrast enhanced photos up if you can spell. Dinsdale didn't know it when he filmed it and so the findings weren't released until after his death out of respect. You however, are a small, insignificant blip on the radar of things that matter. Work on that.

  • is this dinsdale's film?

  • @lina107 indeed it is. There is another scene where the thing swims parallel to the shore and some further analyses have suggested it is just a boat and that a spot on the side is the man on the boat. However, I equally think it could be a second hump.

  • That's a log floating around.

Oh. No. Maybe not. I guess most likely it's a prehistoric creature that has survived in a Scottish Loch all on its own for thousands of years.

Look, I wanna believe in magical beings too. But is THIS really the best we got?

  • Photoshop in 1960? Are you serious? =.=

Photoshop have not existed yet, along with Paint. Heck, they didn't even had BIOS yet or were there any proper editing tools that can pull that off.

The most we could say is that some douche wore a hat and swam while pulling a lump in the middle of the night in the dark and this guy who was going on with his life just happen to see the damn thing. Psh, heck I might be wrong and maybe someone invented enhancive photo editing earlier but still, looks real.

  • maybe its a fish

  • photoshopped!

  • @Blamefulrednas Photoshop 1960? Dont think so.

  • Omg a black dot maybe it's an alien!

  • @spyware60 haha, touché :p

  • A film of a boat. Nice.

  • That is the best footage of nessie ever. On wikipedia it says a man can be seen clearly. What are they talking about?!

  • I was part of Operation Deepscan, by the way so I KNOW Dinsdale's film was not analysed as part of it. Loch Ness Uncovered (I don't have a copy) must have made a mistake.

  • Oh, and yes, the Naked Science used the same man who had done the original analysis for JARIC giving him the chance to correct his mistake, which he did cheerfully. Stop hanging on to this 1960 film (that's why it is not HD Stratospk) of a boat. If monsters in Loch Ness behaved like that there would no longer be a mystery!!!!

  • Groyneyvision, don't you read anything? Operation Deepscan was nothing to do with analysis of the Dinsdale film. It was Naked Science where it was exposed as a boat - mistake probably, not deliberate. With photoshop you can perform the same experiment. Take multiple frames where the object is moving parallel to the shore then superimposed them, lining up the front of the "wake" in each frame to exactly the same position. Now make all the frames 10% transparency &, lo & behold - a man in a boat.

  • There are lots of interesting and erroneous comments to this film. Firstly Deepscan was an expedition and did not analysis the Dinsdale film. The Dinsdale film was conclusively shown to be a boat in the Naked Science documentary which used a stereoscopic system to show that there really is a man in the back of a boat in the sequence where the boat moves parallel to the shore.

As for removing all this Nessie rubbish. There is actually more to this than meets the eye, although not plesiosaurs.

  • @InvernessToursDOTcom I'd recommend you watch 'Loch Ness Uncovered' for confirmation that a person who was part of Operation Deepscan analysed the film. And, of course, conclusively proved that ... nothing could be proven except that it was not a boat!

  • How come this isnt HD?

  • This cine film was analysed by both JARIC (a miltary data centre) and Operation Deepscan, which the latter analysis which was shown by The Discovery Channel (on the documetary Loch Ness Uncovered). Both concluded that the film showed an as yet unidentified creature.

  • To all believers: The Loch Ness Monster is a myth, regardless of what you have "seen", "heard" or what you "know".

  • @TheMikeyReilly oh yeah! real good argument there! ....

  • @SailorxVenus Yeah no kidding. It's a fallacy called an argument to ignorance. This is when you say that something is true or untrue because it has or has not been proven or disproven. Aka "The Loch Ness monster is a myth because no one has proven it to be true". On the other side, saying that it's real because no one has proved that it isn't is a fallacy as well. Intellectual arrogance is deadly folks, critical thinking is the cure! Or.. a bullet, whichever you like

  • i see 2 guys in a boat!

  • Well, I have been studying her for years, and a while ago I had this video on my channel, but I edited it and removed some blur, and it is DEFINITELY not a boat :) However, I am a bit skeptical... I would LOVE it if she was a plesio. or some other type of crypto, but only time will tell...

  • someone has been on the vodka, family guy, yes family guy does exist, hes a cartoon character, nessy never existed as a real mamal, animal, fish watever - russian tossers

  • вы ар а морон. го и унират!

  • please take all this loch ness crap off youtube please, there was nor is any monster, its getting a little cumbersome after all these years. people with commonsense would tell u that a monster could not survive without an adequate food supply. please take all nessy clips off

  • stfu, even if it it fake so what? family guy isn't real, should we take out all the clips of that too you fucking idiot?

  • If you live in a lake, I think theres FISH. Smart guy...

  • @flyscreen99 well thousands of animals did survived sharks turtle etc. maybe the cientist that we have today there are to freaking blind...or nasa take all the subjects in:P

  • you realise when they checked stocks of fish in loch ness they found 20 in one catch, that was apparently a ninefold increase on previous estimates? i know this is replying to an old comment but w/e

  • this is fucking fake....

  • Wasn't the Dinsdale film accidentally revealed to be a boat when someone turned up the contrast on the screen one day?

  • actually, when it was enhanced they found what looked like the head, and flippers.

You are right though, when you increase the contrast, apparently you can see a man in the boat.

Probably fake video but interesting nonetheless.

  • Just looks like a boat to me.

  • Dinsdale took this footage from a half-mile away, so it could be anything...

  • yes anything but the lock ness monster

  • I encourage believers and skeptics alike (I've been both) to read Ronald Binns' The Loch Ness Mystery Solved.

I spent about the first 25 years of my life believing in Nessie with all my heart, but reading Binn's book was a real revelation. It's like being convinced that the sawing a lady in half trick is actually some sort of supernatural phenomenon and then you stumble across a book on magic tricks and discover what is really going on.

  • I'm afraid that his book of 'solutions' and explanations is as tenuous as some of the so-called 'evidence'. His book is merely the view of an avowed non-believer and dismisses even the most detailed of evidence in a sometimes very shallow way. An awful lot of his assertions can be argued away as easily as soon of the believers.

  • The book seriously (and unhappily) challenged my long held beliefs about the phenomenon, but it made more sense than any other book on the subject I had ever read.

For YEARS I have looked for some crushing refutation of Binns but could find none, other than vague ad homs about how "mean" he was or about how his book was rife with inaccuracies, without actually pointing any out specifically.

If you could direct me to a book or article that critically examines his book, I'd be most appreciative.

  • my eyes hurt !

  • "Surface vessel"? I can't tell at what I'm looking. What is the last frame?

  • A computer expert who enhanced the film noticed a shadow in the negative which was not very obvious in the positive. By enhancing and overlaying frames, he found what appeared to be the rear body, the rear flippers, and 1-2 additional humps of a plesiosaur-like body.

He said that: "Before I saw the film, I thought the Loch Ness Monster was a load of rubbish. Having done the enhancement, I'm not so sure".

    Its TRUE....read about it!

  • thats directly from wikipedia

  • yep just read it.

  • I saw that, it was in world around us... The dinsdale film is something I know heaps about. the boat theory was written off because when the same enhancement was done it clearly showed a guy hanging off a boat. well the out line of a guy anyway.

  • nice job copying off of wikipedia, makes you sound really smart

  • I love all the stories about Loch Ness. Im from Scotland and Loch Ness is a very beautiful and to me a scary place haha. The water is sooooo deep (check the story behind Edwards Deep) and god knows how many caves down there. People think nessie isnt real, fair enough. But check out the history of the Loch. All these vids and pics that just so happen to go missing. Im so sure that there is a cover up here. I believe there is something there, and i believe theres more than one!

  • what do u mean , pics and videos went missing ? and yes , i think that if there was to be something in the lake , it's a whole family !

  • If an enhancement proves that it's fake, then: 1.) Why is it not availible to the public? (So far as I've seen.) & 2.) How come they've never been able to identify "the man on the boat"?

  • they enhanced it on the discovery channel and they say it may well be real

  • The Discovery Channel is a joke and should not be taken seriously.

  • Apparently if you increase the contrast, you can see a dude in that boat

there has never been good footage of nessie

  • Then you havent seen the 2007 film

  • The Dinsdale film (1960)

In 1960, aeronautical engineer Tim Dinsdale filmed a hump crossing the water in a powerful wake unlike that of a boat. JARIC declared that the object was "probably animate".Others were skeptical, saying that the "hump" cannot be ruled out as being a boat, and claimed that when the contrast is increased a man can be clearly seen in a boat.

  • And if you kept reading the Wikipedia article on Nessie, you might've read this:

In 1993 Discovery Communications made a documentary called Loch Ness Discovered that featured a digital enhancement of the Dinsdale film. A computer expert who enhanced the film noticed a shadow in the negative which was not very obvious in the positive. By enhancing and overlaying frames, he found what appeared to be the rear body, the rear flippers, and 1-2 additional humps of a plesiosaur-like body.

    Fool...

  • It's fake.

    And anyways its too blurry.

  • ahhh dude, its 1960

  • It's quite clearly a dog swimming, probably a black labrador. Watch it again. You can make out the jerky head movements and the ripples caused by the front paws as it swims. The only thing that makes it mysterious is the grainy quality of the video.

  • Actually now that u mention that i think you're right haha

  • Probably Joran van der Sloot's friend in a boat.

  • A huge rock floating in loch?

  • rocks float?

  • im surprised no one posted a qoute of Napolean Dynomite. Anyway, thanks for posting this, I've been wanting to see this footage

  • its way to bluryy . Nobody can tell

  • What a pity, the cameras at those time weren't excellent like the modern ones, the creature is indefinable.

  • this is quite a famous sighting filmed by a trained observer.

  • thanks for uploading this I've been searching for this for a year

  • it didnt seem to be moving but had a wake very strange

  • upload the ogopogo footage that's better

  • ohhh Nessie!

  • A fish?, a weed?, a bark? Yeah right!

  • a mermaid!! ??? WTF...I THOUGH MERMAIDS WERE FISH-LIKE

  • That's all your moms. So this is the famous Dinsdale Film 'eh? Why is it that the low-quality films and pictures are always the best? Maybe people were more honest back then...

  • dats stew chicken with some coca cola drizzled on it

  • that is not the loch ness its actually a creamy home style mash patato with gravy thrown into the water! yeah awesome

  • This Is Actually Quite Old You Dingbat.

  • Why Is YoutubeNot Putting These In Teh Proper Place?

  • That seriously looks like an ocean rock.

  • An ocean rock swimming in the middle of loch!?

  • Guys come on! Its a comlumbian drug cartell that kidnaps familys to take them back to columbia by boat under the cover of nightfall to have them work as manual labor in the feilds under harsh conditions making there life a living hell... seriously, god, stupid damn people these days.

  • It's clearly a sunken UFO.

  • I BELIEVE IT'S A MERMAID
