Toyota Soarer and Lexus SC are identical cars, there speedy. And please try and say you could see the emblem, becasue I have a very fast computer with a 1080p 22" monitor and I can't see it, so... I win :)

The lexus (SC400) *the one in the vid* only came out as V8 Quad cam

The Toyota soarer came out in 1JZGTE Twin turbo, 1JZGTE Single turbo with VVTi, and it came out in 2JZGE *non turbo*

I should add that my tests done driving here in Boston returned 14.5 MPG, true V8 figures. I would guess the reason the SC's so good on fuel on the highways is because of its aerodynamics.

I've done a couple cruise control tests at various speeds on my 97' SC400 to see how fuel efficient it is. I test it when I visit my parents (25 mile trip on the highway). The only mod I have is cat-back exhaust. Here's my results:

At 55: 32.5 MPG

At 60: 31.1 MPG

At 65: 30.1 MPG

At 70: 28.7 MPG

At 75: 26.4 MPG

I haven't done any tests higher. Driving above 80, my exhaust gets pretty loud, plus the statees patrol the fuck out of the highway.

well in the city the V8 Soarer drinks petrol kinda heavy :P but yh its a beast, but on highway its economical, my 4.0L V8 did 502miles with 1 full tank which is 78L (London to Wales)

mine was wiked on fuel for a v8. better than my celica 2.2 litre 4 cyl actually, and thats clean and immaculate engine.

The SC300 and SC400 have the same fuel efficiency. I've topped out at over 30 mpg at cruise control set to 65 mph on the highway, no lie. It goes to show you if you drive the speed limit, this car can return amazing results, but then again this car wasn't designed to go the speed limit!

A Lexus SC400 is definately not a rice burner. These cars packed a VERY powerful V8, which could produce nearly 300 HP stock nearly 10+ years ago. My 98' SC400 will chew up those ghetto Civic Si and spite them back out. With a supercharger installed, these cars could easily take on Corvettes and M5's.

I too have an SC400 (the '95 with the weaker motor) and it is pretty quick. The only way an SC400 could hang with a Corvettte or M5 is by supercharging/turboing it... I love my SC and plan on getting a silver '00 400 eventuall on top of my DPW '95.
