We went on this train to Whistler when we went to Vancouver on holiday. You have to do it, it was amazing!!!

The train uses the BNSF line from Vancouver to New Westminster then switches to the CN line. It crosses at Mission to the CPR line then over to the CN line at Black Canyon West of Ashrcoft. Then switches to CPR line again at Kamloops. It actually splits in two...one goes to Jasper/Edmonton...the other to Banff/Calgary the next day. I did the trip two years ago...it was amazing. I rail fan's dream!

It never uses BNSF. BNSF uses CN where the Rocky Mountaineer goes in some places.

The train uses the CP track eastbound but travels directionally using either CN or CP westbound along the Thompson & Fraser rivers.

Brought back pleasant memories.The dome cars (Gold Leaf)is the way to do that trip.I have done 8 trips,each one was different.You will enjoy it,to say the least.
