Nice assumptions. The Alaskan coastline is super windy. Wind generators will be all the power Alaska needs if it ever runs out of oil, which isn't likely since the largest concentration of light crude in the world was discovered there recently. If they know shit about pipelines, they're probably already working for BP or Exxon. In which case, they don't need no special pleading on their behalf from no bishop or president of a historical society.
