People who committ suicide are troubled people who feel that is their only option. There are a variety of reasons to why the individual did that, whether it's over some religious issues, grades, not fullfilling potential, financial, romantic etc etc You get the point. I'm not saying that u need to see Cohen but it's nice he offers his serivces to those who want another option. Look at how many people seek 2nd opinions at doctors on everything. Imagine if he didnt exist and somebody needed him?

Leave the people alone. Richard Cohen is not the only successful ex-gay in the country. There are plenty of others in the nation who have changed their orientation, and those who haven't have simply found a another, greater desire than their sexual urges.

Examples of ones who have not succeeded do not negate the examples of ones who have successfully worked through the issues that resulted in their Same Sex Attraction. Change is possible. Does everyone change? No. But many do.
There are no examples opf Cohen's success. Not a single one. He admitted he keeps NO records or statistics because "It interferes with the work of healing the individual". Now think for a second, if he were honestly changing people he would have evidence. People who committ suicide are troubled people who feel that is their only option. There are a variety of reasons to why the individual did that, whether it's over some religious issues, grades, not fullfilling potential, financial, romantic etc etc You get the point. I'm not saying that u need to see Cohen but it's nice he offers his serivces to those who want another option. Look at how many people seek 2nd opinions at doctors on everything. Of the 87% of the sample they studied (176 individuals) reported that they failed to convert to a heterosexual identity. Only 13% perceived themselves as successful. Healing does not take place with the type of "touching" cohen taught. Many of his "counsellors" were accused of inapropriate touching. Cohen himself finally retracted his stance on touch therapy and now discourages it.

I agree with machelli. You can't fix being gay. You might be able to be brainwashed into thinking you're straight, but you're still hard-wired as gay. If you're not happy with yourself now, it's not going to fix anything to "think" you've become straight.
Do people realize how many gay men are in straight marriages? Living a straight life obviously don't make ya straight much like living a gay life don't make ya gay. Nice try though.
