man... If this game wasn't so mind-blowingly hard, it might have gone down as one of the best NES games ever made.

I mean, it already has a really good reputation, but it smacks you really hard in the face with sudden difficulty in level 3, so I bet most people didn't get to see things like the cool pseudo-3D effect in the last level.

@Loofiloo Although i've never played this game, it looks really awesome. One thing that blows my mind is that there are several new game mechanics in every single stage. And in these Speedrun videos he uses several warps, so there are probably many more game mechanics (That i don't know of). Would love to try this game one day. In my opinion, because of all the things i mentioned eariler, this looks like it could be the best game on the NES, even if it's hard.

@Fraeq Yeah, you're right, dude. He skipped level 2 (toads go down the well on ropes), level 4 (icy level with slippery platforms where toads can throw snowballs and have to dodge icicles), level 7 (fire level).

My brother and I discovered that beating this with two players is literally "IMPOSSIBLE" using an emulated copy (as finding two really talented people is also impossible). We made it to the "clinger winger" level with the spinning ball of light and the controls for the second person stop working every time. I think the designers probably figured no two people would ever make it that far anyway so why make the game work for two people till the end, am I right?

I played it off and on for like three years when I was a kid and never beat it...never even got past the elevator shaft level 'cause it was a level or two after I got so pissed off at the surfing one. What I just realized is I spent the vast majority of three years of my gaming life playing a game I never beat, and you beat it in about a half hour...THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!
