  • Okay there are more then 3 types of radiated particles. Have you heard of a neutron before? I am sorry whatever isotope/isotopes your rock is composed of will depend on what type of particle it emits. It could emit alpha, beta, and gamma's but unless the alpha is highly energetic it will be absorbed by the skin. The same goes for beta particles. Gammas on the other hand can be attenuated in the deeper tissue so I bet that is what your isotope emits. You might want to check your facts.
