The praise from the judges was nice, but some of them made it sound like it was just a case of the girl skating, and dragging a big, inanimate rock around with her. That wasn't the case. I thought Bob definitely performed well from his end, especially given the tougher time balancing that tall people like Bob have on ice.

@dhouston45 Look up Bob's career stats and you'll see he could score too. In his best season he scored 29 goals while also racking up close to 400 penalty minutes. To me, that's something that made Bob special compared to other fighters, the fact that he was also capable of leading the team in scoring if a leading scorer such as Steve Yzerman was injured.

Thanks for posting for us "south of the border" folks who can't watch otherwise. Please put more on in the weeks to come. I was in the live audience Oct 4 and 5 and got to see some rehearsals on Sat . with a crew member. Pretty amazing skating, even without standard freeskating/pairs moves. Choreographers did a great job given the contestants don't really have years to learn the elements.

This show would have been better if the skaters had a longer period of time to practice. They know the moves and lifts now, but needed more time to gain the comfort zone, so other aspects like speed, energy, synergy, charisma and presentation are improved. Probert was interviewed on CFRB this morning and said they had a month to prepare - way too short.

I just posted the Tie Domi one. I might put the Shae-Lynne Bourne / Claude Lemieux one up tomorrow. Domi, Simpson, and Duguay were the only ones that looked like they were having fun out there. The other guys looked more like big stiff meatheads lumbering around slowly while they girls put on the show around them. Hopefully the guys will loosen up and have more fun with it as time goes on.

Totally agree with you except I thought Anderson was enjoying it too and showed some speed and energy. The other guys appeared uptight and stiff especially Probert and Daneyko. Bob even looked uncomfortable in front of the camera. But I admit Its hard for anyone to outgrow camera-shyness, especially when one gets older.
