It wasn't until college that a history professor taught us the truth. He asked the class what was the #1 reason for the war between the North & South. The correct answer is "Taxation without representation" The northern controlled government imposed high taxes hoping to gain southern lands when the taxes couldn't be paid. Ah, money, the real issue! My Rebel Flag represents my pride and love for the south. Not hatred towards anyone.
God Bless the Confederate Flag and what she flys for. And by the way, the first flag that the KKK ever flew was the American flag, but you never hear that do ya'all. God Bless everyone.
no, slavery had nothing to do with the war of northern aggression The South wanted lower taxes and a less centralized government the yankees wanted the money coming from King Cotton and knew that by letting us go they would lose nearly 60 percent of the money in America and lincoln was a complete racist
I'm a California transplant who's been living in Tennessee for the past 22 years, and I just want you to know how much I appreciate the message in this song. Civil war is a terrible thing, and what our country needed was healing after that war. Lincoln understood that, but unfortunately he was assissinated before he could fully guide us through that process. There was just as much guilt in the northern states when it comes to bigotry. We still have a lot to learn. Blessings on you!
i wish we had won my familys been in Florida since 1827 and fought in the Battle of Olustee and the family still lives bout 7 miles from where the battle took place
Speaking as a Southerner, I'm glad we lost. If we hadn't, slavery aside, we would be an agricultural nation with perhaps third-world standard of living and not the industrial superpower we are today. Things needed to go this way.
Frank and Bobby express a view about the Confederate Flag that should be shared with the world...a delicate matter that was handled extremely well. Nice job Folk Lure.
This flag stands for honour, freedom and independence. Let it fly all over the world.
And put this idiots away, who dishouners our flag.(KKK and nazi partys) and any people who don`t like black people). Sorry for my bad english.

I wish, too. I've got ya beat, though, my family's been here since 1768 :-D
I had 2 ancestors in the 2nd Florida Cavalry, Co. H ("Swamp Fox" Dickison's company) and countless cousins who fought in Florida and Georgia.
I love she song, and we do miss Bobby Hicks.
