allthough I think this thing is pretty awesome (I really really find so) I must say that it is quite pointless all the same. I mean, what benefit does it gives aside from having created a succesful flapping wing design (which I think is still a damn good one!!) But what will bring it to us all?
"A wing carbon rod of 4.2mm has been broken by a flight"
I'm wondering, why do you translate it into "has been broken by a flight"?
It's obvious that because "a flight" is abstract, it can not cause anything to happen; the carbon rod broke under stress DURING a flight. You must know that that is not the correct way to speak, no matter what your native language is. Why do Japanese have a tendency to translate into English like that?
I was simply asking a question. I'm interested in languages.
Here's a question for you: Why do you have to be so sensitive about something that's none of your business and bitch about someone's perfectly innocuous question when they meant no offense?
@ScientificNoodles As if that was a serious question. I've been online probably longer than you've been alive, I know a troll when I see one. Your rude comment was obviously a put-down, meant to embarrass BZH and display your self-proclaimed superiority. Not to mention generalizing about Japanese people.
@Cowcharge To Cowcharge: Let's just end this, alright. I don't know who you are, but this is ruining a perfectly good video. I'm in 2nd year JPN, and I watch and read a lot of JPN videos and materials. I have noticed a grammatical pattern. If you choose not to believe me, that's fine. Frankly, I've already lost interest in this convo, and am embarrassed enough for the both of us. You're coming off as extremely creepy. o_O
To BZH: I'm sorry if I was offensive with my clumsily written question.
@Devilock79 HOLY SHIT! PTEROSAURS ARE NOT DINOSAURS!!!!!!! THEY ARE FLYING REPTILES NOT DINOSAURS!!!1!!! WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THAT!!!!!!! LOOK IT UP IF YOU DON'T FUCKING BELIEVE ME. JESUSFUCKINGHORESSHITCHRIST! THE WHOLE GODDAMN SOCIETY IS BLOWN TO SHIT!
Speaks volumes about what an excellent flyer the original "model was, sinse ithad no webed feet 4 pitch control. Pteradactyl nervous system was dedicated to flyby wire.
The elevator setting is needed because birds "row" their wings to fly reducing the up and down effect of flapping. Since the ornithopter's wings flap only up and down, the attitude of the body and wings have to stay at this steep attack angle to promot lift on the upstrokes of the wings. otherwise the unit would do a powerglide to a crash with no lift at all.
Impressive! But how about moving the CG aft? You seem to be flying with a massive amount of "up elevator", adding drag and killing lift. Just a thought.
I as well am truly amazed with this mechanical ornithopter, and by the looks of it the carbon fiber spars must me a little over 0.50 mm in thickness, the design is fantastic and the hinge system should be more than stable for an over 20 gram ornithopter! I cant help but wonder what the li polymer batteries mah could be. Maybe over 220. Do you use a brushless motor or coreless although brushless is probably the answer anyway. It sure does fly like a charm though! keep doin what you do best!
nice job, your use of quality componets,is something most people fail to do,when taking on a project like this, good hardware, materials is a must.great job.
Last time I checked the maker posted instructions for his designs on his website, but remember this man is very experienced and his designs are complicated.
OK, it's the same person. That's why so many of the ornithopter vids look like they're done at the same place-because they are.

I LOVE it. I simply LOVE it! unfortunatley, I am in an argument with a guy who thinks a pterosaur is a bird. he's trying to convince me that. jeez...

@warofthewalruses
He's partially right. Birds are dinosaurs, birds of prey like falcons and hawks are actually called raptors.
