  • Really wanting to get the penknife but with the CF handle scales. Great review nutn'.

  • In the UK we can own a locking blade, I have one in my pocket right now. But we can't conceal carry a blade that locks and it has to be under 3inches. :(

  • @nutnfancy Hey nut, did you ever own a Silver Stag knive? The folder look so cool. you should take a look a their fixed blade, nice bowie with gorgeous handle. Made in USA, hand finished ;)

Your vid with Mr Emerson was the best! Greetings from belgium.

  • Guys, the locking version of this knife is called the Caly 3 and Caly 3.5, the numbers designate the Blade length

  • @dlat80 I have the Urban Leaf in foliage green, but I think they've also been discontinued

  • Great. Wait till they figure out this one! You can try to take my locking knife... from my cold dead hands!

  • poor British...they have screwed "knife law"...:-D they have nothing even to commit suicide:-D

  • Very nice looking knife and I like the pocket clip too. The steel seems to be good however, I am just used to a locking blade knife. It is great to see that Spyderco is making a knife for use in the U.K. Great video.

  • BTW I think the drop point blade one uses GIN1 steel, which is pretty high quality.

  • I like how it says "Golden, Colordado, USA, Earth"

  • As a subscriber from the UK I just wanted to say thank you for this and all your vids. Keep up the excellent work.

  • I love my delica 4 but the clip chews up my pocket. The wire clip on the UK pen knives, might be less abusive to clothing, not a huge deal but EDC knife should be just that EDC.

  • Its funny seeing all these poor people hoping for a response from this guy. Supposedly its his "sister" who does all the talking. Fuck if i believe that. People dont get your hopes up for a response, because it wont fucking happen.

  • Hey, nutnfancy, since the old G10 UK Pen Knives are no longer available, you might want to redirect your viewers to another high quality alternative: the Spyderco Urban. Main differences are: it's a little bit shorter, VG-10 instead of CPM-S30V and it's made in Seki-City, Japan. I own one (because of retarded german knife laws) and it's awesome.

  • i m from northern monaghan too

  • Man, must suck to live in the UK!

  • @MondernoVids it does no self defence laws at all the only legal thing to do is to die

  • Was that Sal Glesser?

  • @Don789ten Yes, that's Sal Glesser at the beginning of the video

  • Hi Nutn,I’m a nube, thanks for a good site. I am old school from Nothern MN.Up here we need a knife to do everything from cutting wood to processing a deer & such without worrying about braking. I make my custom drop point knives out of 12" circle saw blades. They are a one-piece blade with wood slabs and 3 brass rivets. I heat treat (44-46 Rockwell C) about 3/8 depth of the cutting edge leaveing the rest of the blade natural. I'm guessing those cute knives would look better with Dockers though.

  • Great. Thanks for the tip.

  • I love Spyderco knives. I will have to check them out thanks.

  • great review on a cool series of knives. they are great for edc in the uk and cover about 99% of the cutting jobs needed on a daily basis. we can carry a locking blade if we have a good reason, but for having on you all the time, these are great. if you like a stronger slip joint you should look at the boker plus trance 42 or the byrd tern (made by spyderco and has the full back spring like the g10 version reviewed here). thanks for giving the uk a mention, love your channel :)

  • Great, spot on review, Nutnfancy. My first UK Pen knife was the G10/CPM S30V with orange colored handle scales. That knife is so cool that I bought a couple of the foliage green G10 versions (both drop and leaf). I also bought the Titanium and the Carbon Fiber. All very cool. I decided to add the FRN's just to round out the collection. Totally agree with you on spring strength. The only one that I don't have is the black. Overall, great utility blades.

  • What does Nutn think of the Byrd Tern?

  • Old school review? Hey there's music in the intro:-)

  • Good to see the UK guys gettin' some love. Not my thing but only because I have the choice for the locking blades. Otherwise I would be very interested. Glad I have a choice.

  • You're right, UKPK closes too easily. Scary because they are so sharp. I do like it because of the cost, if ever confiscated the loss would not be significant. Also non-tactical colors make these little knives easy on the public eye especially if you are in another country.

  • These really make excellent training knives for when your kids are mature and old enough. Lets them learn what they can and can't do safely with a knife, rather than being given the false confidence of a locking blade right out of the gate.

  • Nice one dude, I like my leatherman PS4 squirt for EDC but i'll give these a look too,

  • Spyderco has a great product but they need to remake their website its totally confusing and very hard to find what your looking for. the knives are not categorized properly which make you have to look through a hundred knives until you find the one you want

  • Join a gun club and carry your " loaded " shotgun in a gun slip, all 100 percent legal carry in UK, crazy laws over here . Who says we are not well armed, carry your rifle unloaded and ammo in your pocket, world of hurt, unless you have good reason. Knowledge is power my friends, but probably not recommended

  • Hi Nutn',

Great review of an often over looked Spyderco class of Blades! I consider these a Caly with no lock! Great Blades that deserve a look! The TI pen and the Carbon Fiber, as well as the other G-10 Blades are the preferred ones, though they are all great! Thanks for the great review Bud!

    Thanks Again,

    Charlie

PS........ Keep those Great Blade Reviews coming, especially the new releases and Sprint runs!

  • Brits, UNITE and end these ridiculous knife laws. It may not be easy but it can be done!

  • @bobcat224 it's not as simple as that mate. a mix of over the top media on 'knife crime' and murder with rich boy politicions quick to ban anything and everything causing a stur is why stuff will get banned. we could still legally own modern handguns prior 1996 untill a killing spree happened with a legal pistol owner. media gets involved etc etc guns get banned. our knife laws were structured simularly and attempting to change the laws with such an anti knife climate won't happen.

  • @bobcat224 not just the UK bro. The knife was intended to be acceptable in many countries or cities around the world. Serious business if you get arrested for carrying a deadly weapon in some of these countries. it does make you wonder how these laws get passed though, I can think of a few here in the US that amaze me today.

  • So annoying in the uk, these are legal under knife laws, but there's a catch all under the offensive weapons act that means cops can conviscate and even arrest u for ANYTHING they sujectively deem 'offensive' - affectively makes it useless to carry anything.

  • @TheoryTech With s139 pocket knives they do need to prove intent and if they wan't to confiscate something but aren't willing to charge you take down their number and let them know you'll be making a complaint of theft. Yep, you need big balls to play the game -but if you clearly demonstrate you know the law, are persistant and genuinely weren't doing anything wrong they'll back off.

  • @TheoryTech the law concerning knifes CJA 1988 sec 139 concerns "pointed articles" this was passed to block holes in the Prevention of Crime act 1953 (offensive weapons) where the prosecution had to prove that the weapon was "MADE, INTENDED OR ADAPTED" but could only proceed with one of these options from the outset, and could not deviate at a later date

ie knife not made to injure or kill but can,bayonet-kill or injure, pickaxe handle with nails adapted ect PM me if you want more info.

  • i love it*

  • woohoo a review of a uk legal carry knife, not too many around. thanks

  • i bought the frn first and really hated the weak back spring. i send it back immediately and got the g10 version instead. lovely knife but a little intimidating for general use in the uk and im pretty certain the police would have a few words to say to you if they found it. knives really terrify people over here after a long media campaign vilifying them due to knife crime. we have timid middle englanders and our poor trash to thank for it. search chav if youve never seen our social scum.

  • @mintyvision i have this knife as my EDC although it is legal to carry im not looking forward to the conversation with plod when i eventually get stopped. For me its the best i can carry "legally".

  • @k31chris ive stopped EDCing mine. now i either go with a sak or the spyderco squeak as its really not worth risking having that chat with the old bill. id rather keep it at home then lose it to a policemans pocket. hope you enjoy using yours. they really are great.

  • I wish it did have steel liners. I know Nunt is always weight conscious which is why every EDC place I carry also fills the role of emergency defense. it is better to carry one 3 plus oz blade than 2 separate knives

  • Heard rumors that law similar to the UK is being pushed by Obamists in US - non lockers, no one hand openers...

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus i sincerely hope that doesnt happen. as a brit i can tell you our knife laws really suck, along with the rest of our criminal justice system. our entire legal system revolves around protecting criminals whilst making the rest of us defenceless and treating victims like nuisances. our police would rather we got stabbed than put up any defence. if you do defend yourself over here expect to get arrested for it.

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus atleast you you can still pull out your shooter if you needed to ;) in England we can'tlegally carry anything that is to be used for self defence!

  • @DudeNumberOnePlus I can assure you, that will not happen. ;)

  • So f'ing glad I live in the US. Thanks for the review though nutn, they look like great blades.

  • My apologies for all the political responses. Couldn't resist.

  • I believe Spyderco already addressed the weaker back spring problem. New UKPK lightweight models should have a more robust "split back spring" as they call it. Just email Spyderco and see what they can do to help you.

  • @MrICSK The G10 ones were grand -dunno why they changed to a half spring on these.

  • Ahhhh the G10 knife I was involved in the design of as part of British Blades, it was my idea to put the UKPK Design Team stamping on the spine. Got two of those knives and it's my EDC. I am lucky to consider Sal, Eric and Gail as friends. Great people.

  • @thegeneral123

Respect, brah. The UKPK made me find BB in the first place.

  • Whats up with the porn music?

  • @J0ER0NIN The porn music is epic man

  • God bless America!

  • Sorry for the spam Nutn, but I sent you a message about some art, could you respond when you get a minute?

  • I would love to have a UKPK, but Spyderco overprizes their products when they sell outside of the US. You can pretty much double the price for Europe. So a 35 Dollar blade will cost 70 Dollar or more. Which is the price of other knives of equal quality (Victorinox, Böker for example). So besides having the Spyderco brand item those models don't offer anything to European users, there is no real advantage in buying them, sadly, with these prices. :-( Half the price and you will sell a lot.

  • @Schmidt54 although on paper it may look like they are double in dollar cost for spydercos when you buy in the uk this is purely due to the current exchange rate if you look at the cost in the uK of a 2 liter bottle of pepsi averaging at £1.66 and then look at the $1.66 for the same bottle of pepsi in the US you will see they have priced on purchasing power exchange not curency exchange and for the UKPK £42.95 free shipping from heinne.com + the discount code its a great deal

  • @OriginalOwner777 No, I am serious about that. I checked eBay yesterday on that. In the US incl. exchange rate, the price was approx. 31 Euros. The local vendors sold at 65 Euros. By exchange rate logic only, in Europe (where the € is used) all American knives cost less than in the US (because 1,3 dollars is 1 euro roughly), but in fact it is the other way around, the only way to get it at a low price is to import it yourself.

  • @Schmidt54 Im not certain on the shipping but if you scroll down and find the nuttnfancy code for heinie.com it will be 51.68 euro + shipping - 7% of the total thats ordering from the UK site its the best price I can find right now however mindyourfingers is the official UK spyderco retailer

  • Did you have a booth review with Ben from Beretta this year, last years was great!

  • @YourMilageMayVary haha the pure ignorance of YouTube students gaining knowledge off of other peoples opinion it's ok big guy I don't expect you to understand since you took a YouTube comment way too seriously your probably a grow man and your ignorance is astounding

  • @StratSteveLee Greetings from across the pond download "adBlock" it gets rid of most of the annoying youtube ads. Nutn is just a tube victim, its youtube that puts ads on the sites with the most hits, thats how they earn money

Carry the FRN, great knife just a shame that there is no part of the blade to ride over the back of the frame so you can lock it down to the frame with the thumb and stop any movement,

  • 7% OFF at heinnie.com with code: nutnfancy

excellent service and they stock the full range of these excellent knives plus many many more!!!

thumbs up so people will see this

  • @edcbladescom I wish I had seen it a couple of days ago though lol I ordered My UKPK from there which arrived today :)

  • @OriginalOwner777 Wish i had known about it sooner aswell, i have ordered alot from them over the last few years! got 4 of the ukpk alone and looking to get the titanium version and maybe the cf version before its discontinued.

  • I find the GIN-1 to be an excellent EDC-steel. Holds an edge well enough, doesn't rust and damnit, I can get it sharp with a coffee-cup and and a leather belt. Overall the UKPK is an excellent choice.

  • @903lew that's cool, is it better in your experience than AUS8 in that case?

  • @maczuka "Better" is subjective. IMO (note, my experience) it holds an edge better but is just a hair harder to sharpen. It's not something you'll notice for EDC tasks, just take care of it when you should and you're all good. From what I've read it has higher corrosion resistance so if that's an issue I'd say it's better. I baby my knives a bit (shapen often, clean often, oil often), I have no complaints with GIN-1 (or, for that matter, AUS8) for EDC.

  • I live in the U.K. (great review by the way) and i wont go on about how silly our Knife laws are :( i have the UKPK, Squeek & and Urben and i gotta say there good if not great non lockers i wish moor Knife componeys would adress the the U.K. problem we have hear because there really aint that many options for U.K. edc Keep reveiwing Nutin meybe one day they mite start takein Notice (theres a LOT of people over hear feel the same way)

  • I was looking at these, and I saw them advertised with S30V steel, but it gin-1 price point, about $40. I don't even know what that gin-1 is...and to risk buying it just to get it in sub standard steel..dunno. will settle for the new delica, but i would buy it at that price point in S30V for sure. BTW Nutn, you never address the choil difference, these penknives have choils, the byrd series have choils, cat& chicago too...not the delicas nor enduras, what is the difference in usage??

  • @maczuka

Gin1 is more or less 440C, a decent steel at the price. New models come in BD1, more or less the same deal.

  • cash rules everything around me, CREAM, get the money, dolla dolla bill ya'll

  • I have two UKPK's and think they are great pocket knives. I carry the little brother to the UKPK the Urban with foliage green g10 handle. Syderco make some great knives and it's good to see a company making products for the rest of us in countries where laws can be restrictive when it comes to knives.

  • Terrible music selection nutn. Lol

  • I found a UKPK in G10 VG10 for $60. I love it! I have found the G10 to have better tension when deployed than the FRN models. Sadly discontinued tho. :[ However, I find it to have enough pressure as to not worry me.

  • @chestertheman1 The g10 versions are s30v. Good find for 60$ though...

  • FUN FACT: It is illegal to carry a locking knife in San Antonio, Texas. just a little warning for any knife nuts who plan on visiting.

  • @TheSmackfan101 It is illegal to carry ANY blade in Scotland, UK. Even when it is under 3" and non locking you are not allowed it without a very good reason.

  • @MrBenWebster said "It is illegal to carry ANY blade in Scotland, UK. Even when it is under 3" and non locking you are not allowed it without a very good reason."

You probably get away by declaring carrying from work to home, or home to work, and so on. For that purpose it would help if it was in your bag and not in your pocket.

  • @MrBenWebster Not true -s139 exemption also applies to Scotland.

  • @MrBenWebster Funny thing is that the home office disagrees with you the law states you may carry a sub 3 inch folder without a locking mechanism that is the most recent knife legislation for UK Scotland Wales and Norther Ireland it will only be considered a weapon if in a bar at a football game or when in close proximity to a fight that as broken out even if you are not involved in the fight yourself that is the 2008 law updates which are still current

  • @OriginalOwner777 Ah interesting, thanks for correcting me guys. The reason I said that was because a while back I got pulled up by a friend of mine at work because I had a Leatherman Kick on me at the time, he called up his brother who is a copper to see out of interest if it was allowed (because I insisted it was allowed) and he said that I would probably have got nicked if I had been searched. I subsequently snapped off the blade deliberately so that I could carry it around for other uses.

  • @OriginalOwner777 The worrying thing is that a lot of cops might think that you are not allowed to carry a blade, and arrest you for having one. I don't know if this happens a lot, or if there are any safeguards to prevent it... like a lawyer that they can contact to check or something.

  • @MrBenWebster coppers can arest you yet will have to return the perfectly legal carry knife the UKPK was specifically designed to be legal to carry in the UK which is why the blade is 2 and 15/16ths of an inch long just under 3 inches the cop on the street may not know this but the CPS does and so do the courts. Also should if you are scotish and wish to carry a fixed blade all you have to do is wear the scotish national dress and you can carry a skien dhu

  • @OriginalOwner777 I just bought the grey spyderco in this vid. In part due to your comments guys, and in part due to the video (thanks Nutn'). I used the nutnfancy discount code on heinnie.com so I hope it helps out the project a bit. Cheers.

  • @MrBenWebster if you went for the free shipping option dont be suprised if its with you by thursday I ordered mine in marroon on saturday 2pm so after they closed and it was here today so 1 working day shipping even on free post option

  • @MrBenWebster As more years pass I think coppers are getting less and less knowledgeable abut the laws they are meant to uphold... that and some of them lie, because they know better than us and we can't be trusted.

  • @MrBenWebster Damn! That's some old bullshit.

  • Great review. I have the Kiwi Stainless Steel Slipjoint C75. That thing is almost impossible to open with one hand and it closes pretty hard too. It doesn't have a clip on it and is quite small. I like to use mine in public because it is not scary. Otherwise I use the CRKT Kasper Crawford.

  • Nutnfancy will you upload your visit to Benchmade's Shot Show booth?

  • Thanks for the great knife review as always. Your reviews are SOTA - State of the Art! While the UK Penknife might not be that attractive for U.S. EDC, I think I'll get one of these to use on my occasional trips to Europe. In Asia, its common for policemen to just ask American tourists whether they have a knife on them or not, then confiscate it for themselves claiming its illegal. (Good luck appealing it.) I'd only carry a throw-away knife in Asia.

  • One time paracord got me home when I wrapped it over a infant sock and crack in radiator where the hose met up with it, if I didn't have paracord I would've been up a Shit creek with no paddle

  • Do you have a review video on paracord 550 nutn? If not you should make one please,it could save lives thank you please respond BROTHER

  • Best knife hands down, spyderco delica fully serreted, and spyderco pacific salt fully serreted, also crkt stiff k.i.s.s. neck sheath with paracord and paracord on handle,my dad has a buck special 119 model its vintage and has the buffalo horn handle, todays buck 119 is replica only.great vid nutnfancy

  • hey nutn, i'd love to see a review just on knife steels. great vid, thanks.

  • the best thing about this model is how deep i carries in the pocket

  • Please review the crkt nirk tighe that a beautiful blade I love mine just wondering what u think of it

  • I love the gear reviews! I come home everyday from work looking for another review! Please, please slap up some tac wear reviews. I'm looking to drop some money in wearables and need some serious reviews.

  • Where was that place where he got the spydercos from? A convention?

  • @ nutnfancy you should get a hd video camera

  • People understand this is his opinion not fact

  • @94Airsoftsnipergod Congrats you just won the triple "U" award... (for those who don't listen to Jim Rome, triple "U" stands for "Unfunny, Uninspired, Unreadable Comment of the Day")

If we didn't want his opinion why would we watch the video?

  • Yeah the G10 one looks great because of the FFG, G10 handle, and stronger spring. Thanks for remembering blade centering. I got a Tenacious just recently and the blade centering is terrible! It's about as bad as it could be. My Skyline is not very good but I'm okay with it. The Tenacious though I'm pretty sure I have to send it back because it rubs the liner completely.

  • If you want one of the G10 ones check out sooner state knives com (sorry youtube won't let me post a web address, but its all one word + dot com) they have three versions and all this guys prices are beating the ballpark or in the ballpark, he has the green G10, the orange G10, and one in carbon fiber but they're not $50 (I think nutn my have misremebered the price) but they are $90 to $115 depending on handle matterial.

  • Comment removed

  • please review the svord peasant knife, it's like the mosin of the knife world, plus the price is amazing at $15.

  • I have a UK Penknife Leaf blade in GIN-1, Maroon FRN, it's awesome, came RAZOR sharp right out he box, super light, don't even really know you have it in your pocket, but best of all it conforms to the absolutely ridiculous laws we have on knife carry here in the UK.

Got it from yourcornerstore, even with import tax, it was still cheaper than buying here in the UK

  • @mrmactknife so why do you guys have those laws when I'm sure a majority of the public knows that it's stupid? I don't even understand the logic behind not allowing a locking blade??? doesn't that make having a knife way more dangerous because you'll end up cutting your fingers up a lot easier! Which I have done with non locking blades. Same thing with your no handgun law! Maybe i'm wrong but most of the UK'rs i've talked to on youtube think the weird laws are dumb so hopefully the will change!

  • @MrByronodmon We can carry locking blades, but and you must have a valid reason for carrying it. If the cops don't like the reason you give, you could be arrested, fined, or even face jail time. By the way Self defence is NOT a valid reason, infact if you quoted self defence, I'm sure you'd be arrested on the spot.

  • @mrmactknife Agreed, self-defense is a moron reason to carry a blade.

Although locking blade are legal, for the reason you explained, i still think the ukpk is best edc blade. For most task, a lock only get in the way. Also, there no absolutely no way this knife could ever fail.

To anyone that don't have one now, try it. You will carry it more often then all your other knives.

  • @mrmactknife that is just so bizzare to me! I wonder would the safety of your own hands be a valid enough reason! I seriously consider non-locking blades dangerous I've had to get stitches because a non locking blade folded over on my finger when i was younger. but I quess just having one for unknown tasks thru out the day isn't a good enough reason for the UK. I just wonder how did the politicians not get voted out after passing such Bullshit laws? I guess we Americans are spoiled!

  • @MrByronodmon I thought being able to prove legitimate purpose such as hunting, working, fishing ect, ect. would be permissible to have a lock-back. From what I understand, most UK or euro citizens just do not want the inconvenience of being hassled by the police because their powers are much different than they are here. I can fully understand their fear and how it would affect their life in Europe.

  • @MrByronodmon Sadly most of the UK population has been slowly and insidioudly brainwashed by the media and successive governments over the last 25 years or so. The difference in attitudes to things compared to when I was a kid is immense -but it's happened sooooo slowly, most people would never even notice things have changed unless you pointed it out to them.

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx I am also from the UK, I totally agree with you, and it's like nobody knows. It's sad.

  • @MrBenWebster Well I think we both know it's not going to get any better! Anyway, laugh and the world laughs with you brother... at least we see whats going on. All the best.

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx That's usually how it happens like the old saying of putting a frog in boiling water and it jumps out but put it in cold water and heat it up and it gets boiled alive! Its just really sad to me to hear that you guys can't just enjoy a knife just to enjoy it or have a handgun to protect yourself! I live in Utah in the U.S. and I can go in buy a pistol in less than 5 minutes and put it on my belt and walk around with it on everywhere except government buildings and schools!

  • @MrByronodmon Your example of the frog is a good one and in fact the way in which the British people were stripped of there right to bear arms, stretches over a period of about 100years in my opinion. If I bothered posting videos, I make one on it: It's a good warning to America -if examined in all it's details... Many 'battles' were won, but slowly over the years the 'protectionists' gained more and more ground; until we find ourselves here, almost completely without hope.

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx and I personally think that people with concealed carry permits should be able to carry everywhere they want including schools and government buildings because they have already passed a stringent background check to get the permit! I don't know you guys should really fight for YOUR equivalent to 2nd amendment rights!

  • @MrByronodmon Utah is a fantastic state -be grateful you live there! Sadly we have crossed the event horizon here -and whilst most British citizens know that something is wrong, they don't really understand how to fix it: basically what I'm saying is not enough people would fight for 2A (which we actually used to have) and those that did would be labeled by the Govt and media as the lunatic fringe. If anything people probably wan't the Govt to 'do more.' SHUDDER.

  • "Daddy like!" New classic Nutn' line.

  • Hey nutn, Someone recently stole my tenacious, and I was wondering what knife you would recommend in the sub $50 range that would give me a similar, if not better experience. (pref liner lock)

  • spyderco do loads of really good slipit/ non locking blades for the uk market.

  • @origionalowner777 I do agree they are great blades, but i dont think anyone that is intimidated by the sight of a "utility" blade would be releaved to find out it does not lock. If the law/rules allow i feel u should just carry a locking "utility" knife. Guess im just spoiled! Rock on!!

  • Comment removed

  • Arent these discontinued?

  • I live in a state with too many regulations. I am glad they haven't band locking blades yet. Feel bad you the UK for that ridiculouness. Great review but I think I would rather spend my money on the Byrd knives or Tenacious. Thanks Nutn!

  • hey i was wondering if i could have 1 i was the 1 who made that video on u about saying something nice please i am a really big fan of urs and i look at u as my role model and u was a member of the military i love ur reviews and u really know what ur talking about i hope that 1 day that i could no about as much as u do about knifes so could i have 1 of those spyderco's uk draw point knifes i coluld give u my address

  • @sexyyystalker9 Most people I know that come from a poor background don't advertise it in an effort to get things for free. I looked at your channel and everytime you post something it's a request for a person to give you a knife. You're a loser, and it's not because you come from a "poor family", but because you exploit your alleged poverty in an effort to get things from people.

  • nice of spyderco to reach out across the pond with a nice looking blade. those should sell well over there.

  • they look cool, but here in the US?.... not so much... kinda like buying a California legal AR and living in FLA. Just not practical of fun.... Great review none the less... Enjoy! to our UK friends!!

  • @warddman They are very good blades though even the honeybee bug and grasshopper are which are the smallest slip joints in spydercos range sometimes in offices a tactical folder may be too much one of these would be a practical EDC that wont be as threatening because its only a slip joint also would be a good backup for your main edc with its super light weight and close to 3 inch blade

  • Nutn don't you know knives are not allowed in the Pen?

The prisoner's would kill each other. Haha!

  • Bought a Delica 4 FFG a few weeks ago in blue, love it!

  • I've destroyed 3 of those wire clips on my Spydies. Easiest snagging/bending clip I've carried. And if you do bend it, its pretty much unrepairable - unlike flat steel clips :(

  • @FrenziedCalm That doesn't make sense. If it's so easy to bend then why can't you bend it back? Because it's stronger than the normal clip and you are abusing it. Do you think they haven't tested it?

  • @indivent - If you can't figure this out on your own (ponder the whole "bending in only 2 dimensions because its flat vs 3 with a round wire) then you have no business attempting to fix it in the first place. Just return it for a refund dude.

  • Great review, Nutn! If I ever had to take a trip to Europe or something, I might bring one of these along for the ride.

Glad to see another US-made blade being reviewed here at TNP - just how I like it. Thanks for the great work.

    God bless.

  • excellent i wandered if you wouldd ever do a review on these hope you like them as much as me .... ill soon find out

  • Thanks for the review, literally just purchased one after it :P thinking I want a bigger and legal carry EDC so this came at the right time :) thanks again, keep up the awesome work. UK tnp-er :)

  • Of course if you really want to LOVE one of these, try and get one of the original release CPMS30V with black G10.... Had one in my pocket for years, never go out without it.

  • @Almightyrastus Ive got one for trade or sale right now

  • @antixbush Good luck with getting something decent for it. I wouldn't trade mine for anything, had it too long and have done too much with it to ever want to part with it.

  • Paramilitary 2

  • next up: paramilitary 2

  • Thanks for the review form the UK. :-)

  • Brown Delica FFG in my pocket right now, Thanks Nutn

  • finally another knife review from nutnfancy i was waiting for another one of there nice job as usual the ukpks are really sweet knives

  • I've had the maroon one for about 3 months. You're right of course, light as a feather, you forgot you have it. Thanks Nutn!

  • Thanks for giving this knife some attention! I've had by grey leaf FRN UKPK for about a year and have gotten some great EDC use from it. Spyderco have really done the UK market a favour by producing a blade geared towards our needs and laws.

I've also got a Spyderco Squeak, which is a similar type of knife to the UKPK leaf FRN in design except for having a 2" blade. Might be worth a look!

  • I'm from the UK and if I need to carrie a knife to do jobs from place to place I use the letherman skelatool and my excuse is for begin a scout and have a fixed blade Gerber near Gyrills for serious shit and as long as I'm outdoors it don't matter,

You can carrie knifes of all knifes in the uk as long as you have a reasonable official purpose for them

  • The ukpk is to expensive in the UK, as $36 dollers the excange rate would make these about £22 but you will be hard pushed to fund them at a good seller under 50 and some are over £100

  • Funny thing is that g10 ukpk cost about the equavilant of 140usd lol

  • Another tnper from the UK here and I am getting a ukpk in the next few days just waiting on it being delivered. Part of the reason the stiffer G10 one was removed from production is because people where ending up in court or giving their knife to the police to be disposed of because the police refused to believe it was non locking bellow 3 inches. Saying that I will be edcing My ukpk when it arrives as its just a excelent utility tool for me :)

  • @OriginalOwner777 That's not true -I don't know where you heard it but its fear mongering crap, spread by people that want to scare you out of carrying anything.

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx It is actually true I have personally known it happen to 3 people which is also why spyderco released their new squeek what the law says and what the police say are 2 different things. I wont carry a fixed blade or My assisted openers (with the assisted unless they are stowed in My sailing gear the fixed blades camping gear) and as I said I still edc slip joints yes british blades forum helped with the designs but cops often dont know the law properly anywhere

  • @OriginalOwner777 So why does everyone you know get searched by the police then? Sorry, but people getting intimidated into having perfectly legal knives confiscated by greedy coppers happens everywhere -AND IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to being taken to court by the CPS... let alone prosecuted. Even a country as completely beyond help as the UK has not claimed that the G10 UKPK locks -this is nonsense, and that is not the origin of the squeak.

  • @OriginalOwner777 I've just got to add, that if you really believe a copper who will hassle you for having a G10 UKPK won't do so for you having an FRN version, or a squeak... we'll you're kidding yourself I'm afraid.

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx I dont know if the cps would send it to court but the cps are legal experts as I said I would tell the police take it up to court please have calipers ready. However Im balding toothless and with a beard and usually dress presentably out of the house so the last time I got stopped by the police was 15 years or more ago

  • @OriginalOwner777 The CPS rule of thumb is that they will only prosecute if there is roughly a 60% chance of a successful prosecution -in reality this means they generally look to have a 90% chance... and if you aren't breaking the law, they're well aware that any 2penny lawyer will get you off. The law is the law weather they like it or not -and the UKPK don't lock and it's cutting edge is sub 3" -don't let them tell you different!

  • @xXxCatsnakexXx I wont man :) however I will be using My head and leaving it at home if Im going to a football match or the pub ect generally events where knives are out right banned
