  • is the lane durable

  • who saw the crash in kanasas city

he crashed the real beast darn

  • hey have u looked up the new beast?

  • @timmy1175 yes, I can't wait for the 3D UMX Beast! Their new technology looks really awesome, can't wait to try it!

  • @earthling1984 have you seen the geebee? it handles like a pattern plane because of the new tech, looks amazing its fly by wire essentially :D

  • its hard to folow your vids but hell your conversations are interesting thumbs up

  • @azorinifp lol thanks :)

  • The UMX Beast loves the out of doors. It's fast enough to deal with some breeze but turbulence caused by trees is still a bother. Point rolls and rolling circles are perfect and knife-edge loops are a natural. I've programmed in flaperons which help slow down the landing flare. The Beast is a big step up from the little foamies. The brushless motor, esc and 2 cell lipo is worth the price of admission alone. The 12 volt charger is great. Beautiful design and workmanship; a 1st class deal.

  • I don't know bout anyone else, but I just cant seem to translate what LMAOROTFG means! Who's with me on this one, and who's the noob? *cough* that superior guy * cough*. Only a noob would say that... In a video game! Shut up genetically superior you're nothing but a black ops addict.

  • Rest in peace bryan Jenson, every full scale, and RC scale aviator will miss him.

for those of you who don't know, Bryan Jenson was was pilot of the full scale beast

  • @palauskas That was a sad day. I was just enjoying the tiny version as in the movie and wanted to see how the original is performing. The first video I found was about that crash. Very sad :'(

  • just got one today... are they clearing them out? it was only $100.xx

  • is there a power difference between the 120 and 180 packs?

    thanks

  • @brushless55 I would assume the 180 can give a bit more power, but it is also heavier. I didn't notice anything much different in flight, other than the fact that the 180 gave a bit more flight time.

  • Ok- idiot stick. Your better & I'm worse! You win & I lose! All because your dumb ass can't hover the micro beast. I don't want or even have time to argue with kids but as far as being better than setup!- LMAOROTFG- when do you get paid for all your hard work? Your a joke.....

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 lol keep talkin, it seems to be all you can do...

  • @GeneticallySuperior1

to correct you, it'd be 'you're better' and 'you're a joke'

i'd encourage you to at least know how to spell and use proper grammar before calling someone an idiot when your name implies that you are superior. heh.

there are always people out there more superior ;)

  • @attananightshadow stop being a troll dude.

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 only 12 year old girls use text message abbreviations such as your "LMAOROTFG". So unless you a 12 year old girl you better shut the fuck up and just enjoy the god damn video you trolling fuck.

  • One word! "NOOOOOOOOOOOOB! LMAOROTFG!

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 Wow! What an asshole!

  • I'm obviously not the only one who's had this conversion with you. Everybody I know at my club that flies 3d flies a tad tail heavy. Do you fly anything over your 36"? I started out with 33% - & like I said you've got much to learn.

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 lol, u got a big head, yet i see no uploads on your page showing you can fly. I sense jealousy. I have planes that are over 50" yes, and plane size doesn't matter, in fact, smaller is usually harder... I don't care to get in a fight with you, I know I am better at flying and setup than you, and you are just a child trying to start fighting - thinking you are good. Well that's great, but everyone thinks they are good, make a vid or shut up silly child.

  • Your one of those idiots that think because he can't do it "NOBODY CAN"! Think outside the box NOOB- your probably exiting the beginner stage of RC piloting & have much to learn.

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 way past you, u know how to make a plane tail heavy, lol, good job for you.

  • Sorry bro but your dead wrong on the statement that it can't hover! I've got a beast with a moded inner fuselage so I can drop the battery way back - & YES! it hovers beautifully. Just gotta know what your doing- lol

  • @GeneticallySuperior1 it can't hover on stock setup, happy? also, if you drop it way back, u'll be way tail heavy, so although u might get a second or two of hovering, how is the rest of flight? I would be very poor. Of course any plane can hover if you make it super tail heavy and if it has the power to carry itself, that is obvoius, but that will make it unflyable in other ways.

  • @earthling1984 There are two key elements to whether a plane will hover, that is having enough power for at least 1:1 power to weight ratio and also pilot reflexes, the beast will hover just as long as you can keep up with it. I have no videos on my page to prove this but it still remains true, having bigger control surfaces or a tail heavy plane all aid in the pilot reflex to make the plane react better when given control and to move less when in a hover,if you are fast enough you don't need it

  • @yakcrasher This plane was shown and tested stock, and as is, out of the box, it is not a 3d plane, nor it is it setup to hover... sure you can adjust the CG, making normal flight horrible, but hovering possible, but that is not what this plane is made for. As i said earlier, and you restated, any plane that can pull itself up, should be able to hover if you mod it correctly. This plane does not hover stock, and that was the point.

  • wa battery are you using in this plane m8?

  • @frazzer1994 stock battery, 120mah, and also the 180mah slightly larger battery.

  • I have the Micro T-28 (first plane). what plane do you think I should go for next? I first flew the micro champ and recently I had the chance to fly the sukhoi - which I was able to do, but was stress out most of the time - mainly because it was not mine (didn't crash it at least).

    Nice Vid by the way.

    cheers.

  • @fuqueful go with any of the micro 4ch warbirds, or perhaps the larger p-51d bl or e-flite apprentice, or the wildcat.

  • people need to realize that the mah on a battery is how long it will last, the volts is how fast it will go and the "c" i.e. 15c, 20c, 25c is how much instant throttle/torch you will get.

  • Do you like the plane alot?

Is this better than the sukhoi xp?

  • Can it hover

  • Can it hover I am getting this plane so I wanna no

  • @minileafe no, it isn't made for that, it is more of a fast aerobatic plane. if you want to hover, check out the E-flite UMX 300.

  • Comment removed

  • @earthling1984 it CAN hover. just not as easily as the 300.

  • @Thrashaero no... it can't... if you consider 'hovering' for a half a second real hovering, then you dont' know what hovering is. This is a fast/sport plane and although it has the power to pull up forever, it doesn't have the setup to hover.

  • @earthling1984 yes, it can. Maybe you don't know what hovering is if you can't do it more than half a second. The empennage control surfaces are large enough, coupled with the dual ailerons as well as the ability to go straight up means the required power to weight ratio is fine as well. The 300 with a longer empennage just makes it even easier. It's far from impossible though on the beast

  • @Thrashaero i know exactly what im doing... show me a video of this plane *hovering* for 5 seconds, and i'll say your right.

  • @earthling1984 well i don't have a video handy. here's a pic of a guy hovering one just fine... horizonhobby(.)com/Products/Gallery.aspx?ProdID=HAN1050&Index=12

of course, it's way larger, beyond that, who knows what exactly the differences are (there may be a gyro installed) but the airframe is entirely capable of hovering.

anyway, the point is, it CAN hover. you just have to be on top of it like balancing a basketball on your finger. it is far more possible than say a b-52.

  • @Thrashaero lol, a picture proves NOTHING. it cannot hover. nice try.

  • @earthling1984 and besides, if you know exactly what you're doing then why do you consider the 120mah battery to perform the same as the 180mah? or say you can't get it to fly it any slower in the video than what you were doing?

  • @earthling1984 once again you are a little idiot. search UMX Beast by E-Flite vid by "Real6ambler" i found this vid in about 1 min. he hovers for longer than 5 sec. (and dosen't claim to be the "super experienced pilot" that you do. watch the vid, say Thrashaero is right and stfu.

  • @Hope4heli people don't understand what testing and demonstrating what the stock product should do. Of couse you can hover this plane if you make it tail heavy, it has the power to lift itself. but by making it so tail heavy, normal flight will be hindered. any plane can be modified to fly many different ways, that is a given. but stock, this heli cannot hover.

  • perhaps the reason you're stalling by going any slower than you said you can go in the video is you might have your cg off balance.

i've got mine to go about half as fast as you had yours at the slowest. but at first it was a pain due to it wanting to tip forward too much since i always had the battery closer to the front. you have to wedge it in there good to get a good cg. the battery hatch doesnt fit great but some snugging around it will work.

  • I'm thinking of getting this plane. Should I get the extra 120 or 180mah battery with it?

  • @UtRadioGuy either is fine. I have two of each battery. They fly pretty much the exact same, you just will get an extra minute or so with the 180.

  • @UtRadioGuy the 120 is underpowered.the 180 is far more suited given the rpm results and last longer as well. 180mah single cells can be bought from hyperion brand from allerc(.)com and are a lot cheaper. you can buy either the single cells with connectors already attached and then get a y harness to make it a 2s or the bare cells with no connectors and make your own connector (lighter and less impedance). it's a lot easier than it sounds...at least to get the hyperions with a y harness.

  • im getting this plane great job earthling I love this vid

  • First cameraman was way better :p

  • do you notice any power differences between the 120 and 180 batteries?

    thanks!

  • @brushless55 no power difference, just more flight time.

  • @earthling1984

    thank you

  • just got this plane havnt got to run it yet but i cant wait!

  • What flight time do you get doing hard flight?

  • @lazor222 i set my timer 5 minutes from the time I got this plane. I have never hit the cut off, so I am unsure how long it woud last.

  • @earthling cheers thanks 4 quick response

  • Cost

  • How much does that coast in £

  • @Joeprice1231 Hmm... I'm not really sure, but I would guess around 90

  • it looked like you were going through the roof's truss system alot, were you or was it just a illusion and a lack of depth perception?

  • @rcmotorsect I got pretty close, but I don't think I actually went though anything.

  • @earthling1984 oh, still a sick plane though :)

  • Sounds like if you set up your planes correctly you won't need expo. I just bought a DX7 (finally) but I'm used to no expo. I don't really see any reason to start now either.

  • great job!

  • knowing ur good skill will it hover properly?

  • @wolfxx66 the beast won't hover for an extended period of time. It is better for fast aerobatic flight. If you want to hover, the UMX 300 is great.

  • U should attach a small pellet driver to it and shoot down the other planes

  • What battery were you flying with? Did it fly for 0 minutes on the one battery?

  • @Captdave221 I have a couple of the 120mAh and 180mAh batteries. They provide the same flight pretty much, but the 120 is a little bit less weight. I don't know the exact flight time. I set my timer to 5minutes and never hit the cutoff. I usually set about a 5minute timer and always land after that, I never really bother to 'check' and see where the cutoff is, I don't want to damage the lipo by doing that.

  • it´s very fast :)

  • what are the wings like??? are they like the sukhoi or the mustang

  • @minameisjake umm, they are foam, but they feel different than both of those.

  • wow, that is a really great aircraft, looks like that dx8 is pretty cool too. Awesome flying too, that really is some amazing stuff! great video and flying as usual!

  • I was looking forward to this one...thats one cool looking plane good flying too. Looks a little speedy though. Would you be able to fly this in a culdesac somewhat relaxed? I'm up in the air about this or the t-28 or the j3.

  • Thant is so cool how much is that to buy

  • @DoctoriTouch $169

  • one of the guys at my club has the full size hangar 9 beast ( the one this one was supposed to be like ) it flys great

  • how are you liking the dx8?

  • @rufus324 love it so far. I will have a video on it once I learn more about it and test more out.

  • @rufus324 It's great! I'll have a video on it soon

  • awesome! I see you the thread for this plane on rcgroups too :D

    cool vid

  • Cool place to fly!

  • That's a nice place to fly.

  • wow the name dosent lie

  • cool little plane

  • looks like you need some more space to fly that thing.

  • I wish there were some place like that near my house to do that.
