After Katrina and the Waves did her number on you know where I can see lots of the New Orleans folk going Ma'ame Blues...but I don't think they will give you this lengthy preface that you got here.
And there is the obscure meaning of "ma'ame blue", reserved for a dialect on the Mediterranean that is going blind with blue..typically a cook or chef who stands in front of the cooktop all day with the steam and heat eventually has a degenerative eye disease humorously labeled blind from blue water.
I was going to start off with a string of #@%^ simulating really foul words but hey you heard of Project Deep Blue? The one that is now in the deep blue yonder? From the 60s and they are still dreaming of putting a truly working space station that will haul humanity to Mars. Looks like we will keep singing the blues oh mammy blue.
You heard also of the Louisiana version of Mammy Blue? Ma Ame is blue (My soul is blue) on account they mix French and English in a single sentence...sometimes!
amazing

Who sang this song? It stuck in my mind for years. Oh Mammy Blue...Now I know who. Don't forget those that are ma'ame blue.
