@moe5513 Practice a few times a week, not too much that your throat hurts the next day. Highs naturally last longer than lows, so open your mouth wide and force the air on the roof of your mouth if that makes sense. I talked to ronnie from born of osiris for a while about screaming, and he said he used to only be able to scream for about 2 seconds. Obviously now he can do more than that. So basically just practice, time will do the trick

As for myself, I do play guitar as well as piano and I started singing since a few months (not screaming). Although I still love death metal (and perfectly understand how some poeple don't get it) I'm writting the songs for a lighter project which blends many styles of music in a very space way.

@TrueIronMaidenFan powerful and in the search for a new sound the growling sound was made, theres exhaling and inhaling, death metal and screamo it does take talent to growl without destroying your throat, if you're not into it fair enough, i dont like screamo. i just thought id let you know why i think death metal came into play, personally i like bands which combigne the two so the growling doesnt become tedious but still sounds epic such as >>> (2 of 3)
