@OIlllIlly96 I am going to fit a Kart engine in a BMX this summer, First I will cut out the down tube from the steering head to the crank, weld a solid 5mm base plate onto the crank tube allowing enough room for the engine, then cut and weld the tube back in at a steeper angle, maybe this would help you?

@thecallum1 The exact same way you would with any carb. The carbs on these bikes are very simple. Just pull apart and rinse with carb cleaner.

Ok, so I have been thinking about this for a long time but with an electric motor, but how did you make it? Like, what kind of bike did you make it out of? Does it have a transmission or is it driven directly from the motor? And lastly, where did you get the motor from? Any info will help, because I ride my mountain bike 5 miles to work every day and it sucks!

@geko213 Hi Geko, its a cheap halfords steel framed bike, only mods are a bracket welded to it to take the motor and a hole drilled to take the top mounting bolt. It is a directy drive with centrifugal clutch (auto clutch), the motor came from a mini moto bike I bought of fleabay. It you intend to modify a bike in the UK to ride on the road, it will need to be registered as a moped, and bbe taxed MOT'd and insured. thanks for your interest!

@lolmanAza I bought a new mini moto and took all the parts needed from that, cost me £80 brand new from ebay.

@zLeH all you had to do is buy the motor off line but you did it the hard way there is also hi performance cag motors and upgrades from 47 to 49cc

@tommak1447 The downpipe is a least 3" from the back of leg when riding the bike, it also does not get that hot as its directly in the air flow when riding.

dude you need a heat shield for the pipe... defiantly goin to burn you leg on that pipe
