  • wonder what the name of that music is. it was played during the skit where Ernie turns the radio and vaccum on, to drown out the sound of a tap dripping.

  • Say! That would be a great idea for someone who talks too much. You know, motormouth! LOL. I have someone at work who talks too much and won't shut up! Not only would I put a knob on him, but I would use a remote with a mute button on it. We would've got some peace and quiet if that were to happen but I 'll settle for listening to my Ipod connected to a pair of headphones to tune him out. Great video.

  • Well, what do you know? On Sesame Street, just put a volume control on someone who's loud, turn the volume down, and voila! Instant quiet!

  • I think I'll try it on the kids on my bus in the afternoon xD

  • Wasn't there originally more to the end of this? I could swear I remember Bert having some final words before leaving the scene, but you couldn't hear him because Ernie switched off his voice.

  • The chemistry of Henson and Oz really make the Elmo bits look so pale in comparison. Sad this skit doesn't get as many hits as Elmo's junk.

  • no knobs to turn today, only buttons :*(

  • The ending of this clip is when Bert really lets Ernie have it, pointing his finger at him, his mouth opens and closes a lot, and his face moves in different directions as if he's scolding Ernie, and then he walks out of the scene, leaving Ernie with an embarressed face. Looking back at this, Ernie didn't think that gag was very funny after Bert left. Is the last 7 seconds of this where Bert mouths off and leaves the room up on YouTube, yet?
  • FUNNY STUFF.... Really cool.....

    Remembering my childhood ...GREAT

  • Of course Bert never bothers to adjust the radio knob on his stomach himself, let alone remove it.

He knows the Rules of the Cartoon Universe :)

  • Bert should've just holed off and cleaned Ernie's clock that would've adjusted his attitude.

  • say I recognize the radio! Its a old Emerson!

  • Bert needs to just clean Ernie's clock one of these days.

  • brillant!!! thankx THE LONDON BUSESxxxxx

  • Someone needs to teach Ernie a lesson because he is so inconsiderate!

  • Anyone know where I can get one of those for my wife??

  • now if only certain people could have a volume knob on them?

  • I loved that one where he makes bert go loud and soft then he turns him off haha so funny ---------cliff

  • i am 36 and love ernie and bert to this day. Nothing beats classic sesame street

  • i loved the show

  • lmfao!! Good ol' Ernie. What other genius would have thought to put the volume knob on Burt and turn him down a bit?

    Classic..

  • As long as there is YouTube, we never really *have* to grow all the way up :-)

  • amen

  • I completely agree!

  • @mrz80

I'm 40 years old, and I've never really outgrown Sesame Street. I was watching it as a teenager and adult.

  • That was a crazy episode. I don't remember that episode though. Bert should've got rid of the radio. Ernie always distracts Bert for no reason what so ever.

  • What is the name of the song on the raido. It needs to be on the raido for real.

  • That Bus sadly came and went a long time ago. I stil like the piece. I wished Joe R. would have released the music was awesome.

  • lol i love there laughs

  • LOL.........man I love the way Ernie screws with Bert's head all the time...lol The Music is funny enough but Berts face @ 1:03 is damn priceless!! Right on Ern.

  • Which episode number does this come from?

  • I don't the first time it was aired but it had to show up on several episodes.

  • I've heard that music somewhere before, but where?

  • From the 1970 sketch where Ernie turns the radio on so Bert won't be able to hear the water drippping. Type in ernie bert water dripping in the search bar and it should come up.

  • Well, it's similar, but not the same music.

  • I tried that, it doesn't work, I can still hear my girlfriend complain!

  • OMG this is a classic. I remember this. Thanks for uploading.

  • lol...I always wanted to know the name of this cut...lol

  • I'd like to try that on my fiancee! Don't tell her though, ok?

  • thats funny wen ernie put the volume control on bert lol

  • They edited this, there's another 8 or 9 seconds more. Bert leaves the camera only to reappear a second later and rant some more before leaving again.

  • I remember this one well, and hadn't seen it in about 30 years. The music, and Bert's anger are hilarious. One of the most enjoyable things about Sesame Street was the segments of Ernie tormenting Bert. Many thanks, sawing14s.

  • I wonder if there is a volume knob that pops off of something in which I can try to stick on myself or someone who's interrupting the class by causing trouble or something. That way I won't have to hear anything their saying.

  • "And I hear that radio going up and down and up and down and up and down! And I don't like that! I wanna..." Click! Too funny! I also like the sound effects of Ernie pulling the volume knob off the radio and placing it on Bert's chest.

  • man. lol I remember seeing that clip on tv. I still love it. I wish that u can do that to people in real life. lol.

  • Oh my God, I haven't seen this clip in maybe 20 years.

God bless you for uploading this.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahyahahahahahahahahhaahahhahahahahahahaahahahahahhahahahaahahahahhaahahhaahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahaahahhahahahahahaahahhhahhahahahhaahahahhahahahahahahhaahahahahahahahhahahhahahaahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahahahahaahahahahhaahah

  • ha ha ha

  • what the .. that is really funny. lol

  • Does anybody have the clip were They come into Ernie and bert from the 123456789 10 and Ernie is watching TV and he goes 123456789 10 then he plays a game with bert were he starts off and says I 1 the sandbox and bert says I 2 the sandbox and so on

  • PGMEagle it is already posted. type in Ernie's Sandbox Game

  • When I was 6 years old and I watched this show i always watched how Ernie dances and i would copy that type of dancing

  • hahaha thats funny

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahashahahahahahahahahaha

  • I heard that funky beat on ernie's radio

  • All I hear is the radio going up and down. Up and down! Up and down! A real gem!

  • "I will yell Ernie! I will! I have every right to yell! I'll yell and yell and yell because I can't hear myself any other way!"

  • "Especially when you put the knob on my stomach and turn it all the way down!"

  • Poor Bert. I don't ever want a roomate like that LOL!

  • lol, I love it how Ernie loves to annoy the hell out of Bert

  • i think that a old Emerson radio tube type

  • I can think of some people I'd like to do this to :D

  • Oh yes me too. My ex roommate is one of them. It would be so funny! Her lips would be moving but no one hear a word shes saying! LOL!

  • See, what Ernie is really doing here is increasing and decreasing the resistance of the circuit by way of turning the 250K ohm potentiometer or "pot" to the left or right. This in turn lowers and raises the volume of the radio respectivley.

  • Wow! Very technospeaky for a kids' program. :)

  • That was cute, I wish I can do that to my brother because he won't stop talking.

  • yeah, I envision putting one on my mom in law. Then, when she gives her opinion, I can just "turn her off." hehe.

  • ROLFOL

  • Ernie turns Bert off

  • Hi-larious! lol

  • i love Ernie and Bert. "Dont yell Bert, im tryin to listen to the radio!" lol

  • The end is missing, when Bert storms off before coming back to yell more at Ernie, and Ernie just puts his hand up to his ear.

  • @setheurovision94

I knew I was not the only one who thought something was missing at the end.

  • We've all met people we wish we could've done that to. For once my sympathy in this skit isn't with Bert. (Love the music on the radio.)

  • Looks like they ran an episode of "Gilligan's Island" after the E&B skit!

    Great clip!

  • LOL look at Ernie's mouth everytime he dances.

  • What about it?

  • Yeah, the Muppet smile is irresistible.

  • Yeah I cant imagine how many kids thought this was so fun after seeing Ernie doing it. And the parents who had to put up with it.

  • Haha, remember this 'un, the radio in my bathroom had a volume knob when I was little, it was an old boom box and the knob could be taken off, and I used to try it, it did not work XD

  • that is such a clever idea to control the amount of volume of anybody!

  • I always liked the way Ernie dances. THat was how i first learned how to dance.

  • I must say Ernie had fine taste in music! I gotta find a copy of that tune.

  • bert is a boring twat reading all the time bert rocks

  • GROOOOOVEY

  • Does anybody have the episode where Ernie was turning on the radio and he does some exercise moves? At the end, Bert starts jumping up and down.

  • First time I saw this I tried it with my mom, she was not amused XoD

  • Does anyone have the skit in which they turn on all the appliances to out-do each other and then blow a fuse and all the lights go out? That one is great!

  • used to love that shit when i was little

  • this brings back great memories-thanks!

  • I'm thirty-seven years old and to this day these bert and ernie skits

    crack me up.

  • That's the same radio used in the skit I uploaded where Ernie is exercising to his favorite exercise radio program.

  • I like the part when Ernie put the volume control on Bert's chest. Is Ernie on crack? lol

  • Bert's a jive square.

If only I could do that to some of the square ass people at my job.

  • Oh god, I love this. I love Ernie and Bert, really, nearly all their sketches. They always make me laugh.

  • i get crazy! lollyy lolllyy! :) pigeon event, ahha i remember that bert is in love with pigeons! XD ahhh ahh! i wish i could be a kid to see them IN LAW! ahahaha

  • i miss this show. i wanna be a kid again

  • Awesome, hilarious and cleaver.

    _Eric ;)

  • Maybe Adam Sandler saw this skit too many times.. Good God.. what a waste of time that movie was. lol. I wish I could do this to some people in my life though.. lol

  • This is hysterical!

  • Well, here in this skit Ernie uses the radio knob to turn Bert up and down, while in Click, mute is controlled by a remote.

  • Does it? I guess not.

  • This has absolutely nothing to do with Click.

  • DAHAHAHAHEHEHE... now throw Bert into a full bathtub,

    and you've really got control!

  • very funny wish u could do that in real life like the movie click

  • lool funny whits that vol ting on earn (i remeber it when i whas a kid :=)

  • Anybody know of or have the one when Bert and Ernie are in the MOVIE THEATER, and Bert convinces Ernie that in order to see -- he must ask the lady in front of him to remove her BIG hat ??

  • lol - that is f'n funny!!!

  • This one was AWESOME! I'm still laughing at this one.

  • i agree w/ Brinah

  • Oh man, this reminds me of the OTHER skit that freaked me out as a kid. Remember the one where Ernie takes off Bert's face? Gah, I'll never forget that one even if I tried. I hope it's on YouTube somewheres.

  • LOL! This used to crack me up so much as a kid. It still does today.

  • For some reason, this one freaked me out when I was a preschooler in the 1970's.

  • LOL I love the look on Ernie's face when he's dancing!

  • does anyone have the Ernie/Bert blown fuse sketch?

  • How about the one where Ernie drives Bert nuts while playing the Rhyming Game with him? Bert's reaction to Ernie's rhyming of the word "hippopotamus" is classic!

  • oh my god, that's my favorite sketch of all time!

Bert: "hey there lamp, that's a nice shade!" rofl

  • To this day, when Bert walks through a tunnel, you can't hear him talk.

  • This one is great! I also would love to see the one where Ernie blows the fuse, and the one where he puts the pot on Berts head, because the fish are in Bert's cowboy hat.

  • Does anybody by chance know the name of the song Ernie listens to?

  • I wish I did.

  • the song is bitchin' no?

  • Yeah! I wish that song was on a CD.

  • I never saw this but it cracks me up!

  • I wonder if that would work on my fiance. She tends to get on my nerves sometimes.

  • Only if we can do that to the ones that ennoy us.

Great work from Jim & Frank. A True Classic.

  • i hhave the bert and ernie episode about the fauceet dripping, and the radio and vacum cleaner. i only wish i knew how to put that on youtube. i also have the one about the counting sheep and fire engines too. i do remember bert and ernie blowing the fuse and you see there eyes in the dark, and the one weere there lights go off, and it rains in there bathroom. and a guy walks in saying he has a tournament tonight, and bert gets his bowling ball.

  • Well can you send in the link to get to it please? I have not seen that one before but it sounds good!

  • Does anyone remember the skit where Ernie turned on too many appliances and blew a fuse?

  • Yeah! Does somebody have that?

  • I remember that one. That one was really funny. I hope somebody can post it. :)

  • this skit reminds me of another skit where bert is complaining late at night about the noise of water dripping out of the faucet ernie didn't turn off completely in the kitchen and asking ernie to do something to stop the noise. and ernie turns on a radio playing music very loudly so that bert can't hear the noise of dripping water, and bert is mad about the noise asking ernie to do something to stop the noise. and ernie turns on a vacuum cleaner with much noise. that was fun to see too.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA I remember that skit! lol

  • Ernie's expression with his hand over his mouth at 1.39 is genius :)

  • i thought so too!

  • i mean i thought the same thing as amplewarning did.

  • haha! I so remember this, I had a radio with a dial that could be taken off, and i'd pretend to do that with my dad! XD

  • I find Ernie's dance moves quite entertaining.

  • this same music was on a live action sketch where kids were dancing and a voice from nowhere says "STOP!" and one of the kids says "YOU stop!" lol

  • I remember that skit too. SESAME STREET ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember an "Electric Company" skit where Easy Reader watches over a music store when Dwayne (Gregg Burge) arrives dressed like Easy and tries out the trumpet, trombone and triangle. Finally, Easy plays a transistor radio and Dwayne rocks out to the music... heard here.

  • I forgot all about that skit. Old School Sesame Street and The Electric Company ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember this. I want MORE OF THE ERNIE AND BERT SKITS. Thanks so much.

  • funny as hell! lol

  • That's a good one. A volume Bert.

  • That one's great- I remember seeing that years ago...What video clip was starting at the end? That looked familiar too.

  • It might be where the boat goes for lobsters. There was a skit where they did that.

  • I remember that! With the wooden lobster crates.

  • LOL, I love hearing Bert yell at Ernie after being turned down.

  • lol! that was funny! :)

  • All I gotta say is " Kee hee hee!!" ( Ernie laugh) ;)

  • Nice. Ome of my favorite B/E skits.

Does anyone have the Pigeons in the News clip?

  • I have that one up. That's the one where Ernie is exercising to his favorite radio program. Look in my videos.

  • Man, I wish I could do that to my father.

  • Yeah I know what you mean. But sometimes I wish I could do the same thing to my Mom too.
