Ironically, the US was the first nation in the western and European world to promote socialism. Equal standards living, minimum wages, health insurance, these are all fundamentals of socialism, but since cold war started, the US started to regress and look where it's has gotten you.

The american system - if maintained unlike what happens today in the US - can generally last forever. @AlexNOSAM Poverty and inequity are far lower in Western Europe and Scandinavia, I see no signs they will destroy themselves. Social democrat policies allowed Europe to emerge from post-ww2 devastation to a massive economic boom and rise in living standards far superior to the US.
Admittedly, Europe has its own problems. Unrestricted immigration is straining the welfare state and locking new immigrants into a cycle of poverty. Europe needs to be more discriminating on who it lets in.

But the problem with that system is that it sacrifices the individual for the collective. This opens a wall sized hole for parasites - especially unproductive immigration like muslims that make a lot of children there just for the benefits they get for every child. @AlexNOSAM That's not the fault of the welfare state, it's the fault of Europe's messed up immigration system and multicultural policies. In North America, immigration is tailored to fit economic needs and they're not segregated, so they get exposure to Western values. That's why Muslims are so much less radicalized here.
Europe can reform itself by reforming its immigration and multicultural systems, whilst retaining its welfare state.

But also keep in mind that the average American has a lower IQ than his European counterpart. Retarded is an IQ of 70 in US and 80 in most of western Europe I believe. That's because in the 19th century millions of unschooled workers were encouraged to move to the US as the country needed to be build up. The weak US school system does not help either.

@phillip549 The seperation between church and state comes from a simple letter thomas Jefferson wrote to a pasture about religious rights stating that the Gov cannot interfere with church nor they with Gov. Not in the sense we know it now. We were founded under faith in god. The constitution and the Bill of Rights are rights from God. So there you go all in all there is no real seperation of church and state it is not written anywhere else.

Why communism always ended (or already started) as a brutal dictatorship? That's obvious. Men are NOT equal. They are equal in terms of rights, yes. But not in terms of capabilities, motivation, efforts, talents, skills, character etc. You need a brutal dictator in order to hammer the doctrine of uniformism over individuality. If you want everybody to be equal you need to abolish individual rights. You need to control individuums by power. That's what happened everywhere COMMUNISM existed.

talking in economic terms, it is also clear that communist economies must fail. This is clear in theory and spectacularly much more in practice. First top down planning by bureaucrats only can be highly inaccurate and unrealistic (see Mao's GrLF), so extremely bad economic decisions are made. Second and more importantly, any private initiative and entrepreneurship is abolished which drives an economy. After all nobody cares about nothing. Why put efforts in sth if you don't get rewarded for it.

I don't have to theorize. In practice, the picture crystal clear. Western economies leap frogged in terms of productivity, wealth being creating (with a participation of the vast majority), innovation, technology ... you name it, while the vast majority in communist countries lived in utter poverty, but I am sure I don't have to get into detail here. You know it. Capitalism, which is a free market system that allows private property and freedom, brought economic and political freedom.

Why communism always ended (or already started) as a brutal dictatorship? That's obvious. Men are NOT equal. They are equal in terms of rights, yes. But not in terms of capabilities, motivation, efforts, talents, skills, character etc. You need a brutal dictator in order to hammer the doctrine of uniformism over individuality. If you want everybody to be equal you need to abolish individual rights. You need to control individuums by power. That's what happened everywhere COMMUNISM existed.

If u want to make everybody equal, u need a dictatorship. U need to cut the interest & rights of invididuals & take away their property. U need to abolish freedom and free speech of individuals. That's why all communist were dictators. Needed to be! And all these communists shithole WERE communist countries. We saw how well this systems worked politically and economically. talking in economic terms, it is also clear that communist economies must fail. This is clear in theory and spectacularly much more in practice. First top down planning by bureaucrats only can be highly inaccurate and unrealistic (see Mao's GLF), so extremely bad economic decisions are made. Secondly and more importantly, any private initiative and entrepreneurship is abolished which drives an economy. After all nobody cares about nothing. Why put efforts in sth if u don't get rewarded for it.

Western economies leap frogged in terms of productivity, wealth being creating (with a participation of the vast majority), innovation, technology ... you name it, while the vast majority in communist countries lived in utter poverty, but I am sure I don't have to get into detail here. You know it. Capitalism, which is a free market system that allows private property and freedom, brought economic and political freedom.
