  • christian faith is fake iis base in paganism

  • Thanks for letting us know. I was beginning to believe it, but your argument has shown me the light.

  • @SuperAlexrios

It's so easy to brainwash the world, like pagan SuperAlexrios. Horrors! My faith is so terribly shaken by deluded uneducated bigots so incompetent and stupid they can't even spell an eight word reply correctly, knowing nothing of the Bible.

  • As I have come to trust your theology, Lane, since I have found your site, I shall buy this book.

  • Speaking of books, Lane, you wouldn't happen to have a place reserved on your site to list places that sell or lend out reformed books would you?

Not only because I'd like to find some places in my area(Toronto) but also I'd like to share some of the places where I borrow or buy my books cheap but they wee bit far from me.

    Thanks

    Batista

  • If you go on my blog site (lanechaplin(.)com), about half way down the page, you'll see a section called "The Store" where you can find many books that I recommend that are also sold on Amazon. If you look on my sidebar right under my picture, too, you can see what I'm reading now, and click each book where it will then take you to the place you can purchase it off Amazon. Solid Ground Christian Books is another great site for good Reformed books.

  • Great to see the young man who has been a blessing.

One thing I would like to ask you directly - the ad on your channel leads to the United Church of God's good news magazine. They deny the Trinity, and insist on people keeping Saturday and refraining from what they refer to unclean meats. Can it possibly be that you endorse those views?

  • Not at all. Unfortunately, I can't filter out which ads are posted and which aren't. There are some great ads, but, like you've shared, there are some that aren't.

  • Thanks for explaining that. It makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing in not applying for partnership, as I wouldn't want bad ads on my stuff, personally.

  • J. Gresham Machen is pretty cool, he breaks things down very well so that it can be understood by laity at school i take a class where we learn new testament greek, Machen is the author of our textbook, i was wondering if he was the author of anything else because i like his teaching style, thanks for the resource

  • Congradulations my friend. You did a wonderful job with your first solo video. :)

You've been a true blessing to many of us. I believe this is so, because of your true, and ungarnished love for God. Thanks buddy, and God bless.

  • I started reading this book today. He hits the nail on the head in the introduction. VERY Relevant for today. Times have not changed since this was written. Thanks for posting this. Look forward to next month.

  • Good idea, Lane, to have a Resource of the Month. I love Machen, so I will check this out for sure!

  • Thanks Lane, looking forward to more!

  • Machen!

  • Faith is the inability to think for ones self. Ave Satanas

  • Do you have faith in that assertion, "peaceellswhosbuyin"? :)

  • HAHAHAHAHA! That was a most excellent response to someone who has to come up with a username from a very old Megadeth album/title track and who is resorting to a tired old cliche of an argument.

  • Really? How so? If I assert the idea "God exists," please explain to me how I have ceased to "think for myself?"

  • wow we finally get to see u :)

  • I would also recommend Gordon Clark's "What is Saving Faith" as a companion to Machen's book. It brought tremendous clarity to my understanding of Christian faith.

  • "bygracealone1":

Praise God, Brother, I would agree. I read Clark's book, it is one of the best treatments on the nature of faith and saving faith. It is amazing and brought wonderful clarity for me as well. He strongly, strongly endorses Machen's book as well. Thanks for your comment on Clark there. Thank you too, Lane.

  • Haha! And all this time I thought you were female..... Well thanks alot I'll probably check out some of these!

  • Another one for the wishlist. Thanks for the recommend, Bro. Lane!

  • Cool. That book looks awesome.

  • Thank you Lane. Your YouTube site is such a blessing. I am going to amazon to buy the book now. lol It sounds awesome.

  • Lane,

    Nice library you got there.:)

Thanks for the heads up with the book! So much to read, so little time.

Hope to catch up with you sometime.

  • Funny, I haven't heard of this book before. As Francis Schaeffer's mentor, though, it's got to be great. Machen is a treasure in the Reformed Faith. "Thank God for the active obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ!" I'm going to see if my pastor has that one. (My pastor's book store is legendary!)

  • Your vids are so helpful - I trust your discernment, Lane. I'll check out anything you recommend. Great idea!

  • Thanks for the info brother.

  • Thanks for sharing. I will see if I can use that book in my student campus organization to help equip the Christians.

  • I will get that book soon. Thanks Lane.
