i've been browsing trainer planes and it seems that this is the best bet i can get, although you have a nitro power or gas power electric is available now and of smaller version, my concern is those tiny little planes can fly as goood as this. ayos ang laruan mo kabayan...
@yamaha4759 Although this plane is such nice and nimble in the air, don't be fooled because getting it off the ground is a handfull specially if you are not used to J3 Cubs. If you are looking into trainer planes, Hobbico nexstar (Nitro) is better than the J3 Cub, or if you prefer electric the Mini Nexstar would be the best substitute :)
Mayroon din pong ultramicro trainer ready to fly out of the box na Hobbyzone Champ.
nice flight! i have the exact same one (still in production, hehe) i'm a novice so im wondering, did you install the tail surfaces first, then cover them or cover them first? looks like a nice field you have there! (my dad designs and builds his own planes!)
@ArcticFox1095 I installed them first before covering. This was also my first built and I know you'll enjoy yours as much as I did. The field was an old one and is a year ago, we only get to fly on empty roads. thanks :)
@beeper0358 As this was your first kit, i assume that it was quite easy to build - am I correct? I really like this plane, but I don't know if I can build it. I have however, built other planes (smaller and simpler ones) which went quite well. Do you think I can handle this kit? Oh, one last question, what is included in the kit? I mean things like wheels, the covering, hinges etc.
@myodett I would say it went out okay for my first kit. I guess the secret is patience and carefully follow the manual instructions. I also did some forum hunting about the kit for answers on questions might come up during the build. As far as I remember you will need 2 rolls of covering, & wheels. hinges are provided along with push rods. I believe anyone can build this kits as it is very straight forward just follow the instructions, Good luck on yours :)
@BRADtheAV8R , Thanks! Once you start on the kit, it is very hard to turn away from it until it is finished. :) And surely flying its maiden flight is memorable as well as exciting!
