No, the paper around the fuse that is used to keep the fuse from igniting with friction. The plastic cover worked excellently!

Thank you, they are actually roman candles called Head Comets. So basically it has the same effect. Hope you enjoyed the video.

oh i see. i like them a lot. my camera is broken, so i couldnt film my very first pyro display. but it was pretty sweet. do you use flash powder in your salutes?

Yes there are flash powder and titanium in the salutes. But they are consumer fireworks. There's a video of them in the video Small Barrage of Titanium Salutes, and Fireworks Covering.
