  • Eric Church, Jamey Johnson and Brantley Gilbert..... We could use some more to help what Country is becoming.

  • did he start singing come together at the end????

  • @hezzlo muddy water... we got mojo working...

  • Why does he wear that "Child Molester" mustache?

  • You know when you are listening to good country music when they sound better live!!! wow Country & Rock till the day I die!!!!!!

  • Loooove it! Looooove him! Sooo much fun to see live! :D

  • since when does "country" mean "southern"? Not to say it can't be country, but this southern stuff is what ruined country/western music in the first place. If you think this guy is the new Waylon, Willie, Merle, or Johnny Cash, you are sadly mistaken. They aren't terrible, but come on... It's not the "country" in Country/Western music that is missing, it's the western that's missing...give us some more Chris Ledoux! and Marty Robbins, and way less Sugarland and Carrie Underwood.

  • @goppfather hey you know Carrie is from OK right? That's western right? haha idiot. Guys like Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Easton Corbin are what country is. Carrie and Sugarland are pop with a little twang. Quit bitching and enjoy the tunes, haha

  • @goppfather just so you know, country music has changed since merle, waylon, and cash. the only singer now that sounds like them is jamey johnson. so quit bitching cuz eric church's lyrics are still just as good as theirs

  • Eric Church you are really the only good thing about newer country, might sound like Im cutting you down by saying, but Im not.. People say your bashing everyone out there in this song. If that was your intention, thats awesome, Aldean sucks,Josh thompson sucks too.... You the man, I came to tears in that tune about those I've loved. You sing the songs, me and the hicks from the northwoods will be cranking this shit up in the trucks/ice shacks/ and huntin' camps. You rock

  • Eric Church might not be as famous as other country singers but he sure does sing some real country. This is how country is suppose to be. Maybe not the best but sure is good

  • Eric Church is the most amazing thing to hit Nashville in 20 years. No one has had the power to completely change the genre and revert it back to greatness like he does. I really feel like Im not alone in saying Im tired of the shit I hear on the radio everyday. Im waiting for the song where Country Radio wakes up and says "Oh my God! This guy is amazing!" Hopefully "Smoke a Little Smoke" does it but we'll probably have to wait on "Carolina". There is no way in hell they can overlook "Carolina"

  • haha he took a shot at Jason Aldean! haha

  • @kennythorne21 :( i didn't catch iiiit...

  • @XparamoreX09 when he says sing about Johnny Cash the man in black would of whipped you ass!

  • Pretty Boys acting tough..........this guy is so self-centered. Who was that said, "Write about what you know"........Eric took heed!

  • look what this jerk said on some web site:

This song is such an abomination I am surprised the sheer mention of it doesnt cause a rip in the country music space/time continuum. Is this really how Willie and Waylon done it? Eh, not so much. And for all this talk from Eric about how he hates overpolished pop country, he has Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum in his top friends on his MySpace site, and once toured opening for Rascal Flatts.

  • @BIGNRICHNO1 if only he didnt get kicked off the rascal flatts tour

  • one of the best most underated singer songwriters of modern country the new outlaw, along with him, jamey johnson, trent tomlinson, jake owen, and luke bryan the best most true country out there

  • @dachyk22 Yea I am with ya on all of those, especially Jamey Johnson, haven't heard anybody mention Trent Tomlinson in awhile, I had to buy two copies of his last cd after I wore the first one out.

  • @dachyk22 josh thompson sort of

  • cotton candy disolves in water but rocks, they just keep on being rocks,Ilike eric so far but time will tell if he stays true to himself or bows to the talking heads on music row

  • chevys are gay

  • just skip ahead to 1:10. Jason Aldean you poser

  • eric church is the best thing that has happened to country since garth brooks and before that willie and hank

  • So i suppose George Strait did nothing for country music? But anyway yea eric church is the man

  • I think Jamey Johnson has done more than Church, but that's just my opinion.

  • i will say this eric church and luke bryan are exactly what country music needs a large dose of right now. Real country

  • in my opinion eric church is the next alan jackson

  • Oh, good, so I'm not the only one who thought he was talking about Jason Aldean when he said you sing about Johnny Cash.

Idk though, I think there's plenty worse singers out here now than Jason. Taylor Swift, for one. I love her, but she's really not very country to me.

  • Eric wrote it in response to Waylon Jennings song ' Are you sure Hank done it this way"...Who gives a shit who its about its great stuff! Eric has made it obvious about the Rascal Fatts part but he is opening for Jason Aldean now even though he does have both ears pierced but who cares just turn it on and turn it up!!!!

  • just so all you know if you didnt this song was written about Rascal Flatts because they kicked him off their tour for playing to loud and to long

  • Comment removed

  • good cause rascal flatts arnt real country

  • Comment removed

  • and Johnny Cash i can't leave out the man in black

  • this song is not about any band or singer in particular its about how today's "country" is comparing its self to the older stuff and they arent anywhere close to the greatness of the legends of country ie Alan Jackson, George Strait, Waylon Jennings Hank Sr they are the real deal

  • Curious what Hank III feels about this fella. You can sing about all you want, but the real deal can always sniff out a fake.

I do like the song, just don't know a thing about him.

  • Long time Aldean fan huh? How can it be a long time when hes only been around for a few years. Lets see where these new singers are in 10 years. Real country stars like Alan Jackson and George Strait have been around for a couple decades and are still making better music than some of these new "country" singers.

  • I'm a little torn because in the last two years I've become a huge eric church fan...but Im also a long time aldean fan. I can understand the rascal flatts line but why the cheap shot at aldean? I guess as long its just about the johnny cash single I can still be loyal to both.

  • So this song is about Jason Aldean?

  • I love the Muddy Waters reference at 2:54 ... "Muddy Waters, she got mojo working." There's nobody better than Eric and the ECB.

  • great song...this is badass rebel country sayin that the singers are sayin stuff but they don't know nothin bout it great song and he needs to come to Myrtle BEach!!

  • Joeman Hell yeah John d hale is about that the only really kiiss my ass country band left . anybody know any other bands like them?

  • I know of one All Country Label, Look up Camel Ranch Records in Jackson, MO and The John D Hale Band

  • He's not baggin on Jason's Music. Just the Johnny Cash song. Which in all honesty does not represent Johnny. And as for Rascal Fags. No where near country. And as for the scruffy look. thats all Jamey Johnson baby.

  • yeah i love the song and totally agree with it....

  • who cares eric church is the shit and if you dont like the video then dont watch it and fuck you

  • I LOVE this song. I'm so tired of listening to "country" sang by men who have better hair then I do! What happen to the rough handed and rough necked REAL men and tough chicks that uset to sing REAL country music? Eric Chruch is a king among jokers!

  • yeah i hear ya. u can thank todays society for that one. 70% of people like little wayne and soulja boy.20% like taylor swift the new pop icon that wears cowboy boots. and there are a few of us that like to hear actual country music

  • amen to that...but eric is legit. he has no power over where music videos are shot. his lable does. thats why we need 100% country labels, not universal nashville and stuff. we need MCA and them back again!! bring them back! my uncle is a promoter, check out red dirt music. its a group of country arists that write ALL their songs. i only respect swift cuz she writes all her songs. heck, barley any "country" artists write em anymore...bring back anderson, merl, and jones!!

  • what about CBD? shennadoah valley? all the great bands are gone......now wer stuck with rascall flatts and keith urban....i heard that racall flatts kicked eric church off the concert that flatts was playin...and eric said hed be playin at the local bar, and everyone left the flatts concert :D

  • whatis country today? yeah the stuff of the 90's was maybe not exactly country (i like it the best) but todays "country" makes the 90's look like down right appalachian hick stuff...i hate pop country. there shouldnt even be a pop country. if it aint nothin but country, then it aint country. Yeah im not a big big fan of king george and stuff....but i miss the slide gutiar, finaly the banjo isback in bussiness. i miss john anderson. jamy johnson and eric church are whats left of a dying breed.

  • Wow! I LOVE this song!!! Eric Church is COUNTRY in today's pop-country shit world... and I respect him for that.

But what does he keep looking at? lol And he dances around funny...

  • was he talking to ALDEAN when he said THE MAN IN BLACK WOULDA WHIPPED YOUR ASS?

  • aye bub u can be a pretty boy and still and love country music....not my fault i like to look nice

  • this song is awsome exspecilly the man in black would have wooped your ass

  • If yall like this, Listenin to John D Hale Band from Jackson, MO, They are the next David Allen Coe, Alittle bit of their stuff is on youtube but try to find their song outlaw groove, Its like Eric Church listened to it, took the cussin out and here ya go!

  • I would love to see a music video for this song.

  • AMEN! JUST LEDOUX IT!!!

  • Hell yeah!!!

  • well i like eric church, jason aldean, and rascal flatts... they are all good..

  • Rascal flatts should recruit Lance Bass as their new front man. He'd fit right in.

Jason Aldean...meh...most of what he does isn't even country. Not saying it's bad but it gives traditionalists the red ass.

  • i think you're right in a sense but also traditionally it was essentially groups of outlaws like the possum, hank, cash, willie, waylon etc....

  • yeah a modern version of that would be tough. I'd kill to see Eric Church, Jayme Johnson and Rodney Adkins at the same concert.

  • NOT THE LAST ONE!!!

    Asscal Rats suck major balls.

  • amen countryjab

  • i got both his cd's, hes true blue country!!

  • Could this guy be the new Outlaw in Country? Hell we sure need some. The way country radio is now it sure is good to see stuff like this making it through the cracks.

And gobigred8, that line does sound like Rascal Flatts, lol. I wonder if the line "You sing about Johnny Cash, the man in black would've whipped your ass" was a stab at Jason Aldean. If so, I'm cool with that.

    Cash

    Stait

    LeDoux

    Jennings

    Whitley

    Let's hear more REAL Country!!!

  • @countryjab Yeah, I definitely got the Jason Aldean reference as well. Eric definitely looks like he loves the music when he plays.

  • @countryjab no eric and jason are good friends

  • He's right.

Country music today isn't what it used to be.

    Pretty boys actin' tough

    Boy Bands, give it up

    Rascal Flatts maybe? haha

  • songs sweet but he kinda looks like a douche. ha ha ha ha

  • love it!!

  • great song!!!!
