No, Natural means to not permanently alter a genetic default. When your natural you can still achieve straight hair with other methods (BKT, Flat iron, roller setting, plaiting with thread ect.) The difference is that this isn't permanent. There are also ways to loosen curl pattern (henna, yogurt, ect.)

Lastly, you may use gel and styling products/tools (aloe vera gel, shea butter, conditioner, ceramides, pomades, combs, scrunchies, hair dye, ect)

Natural hair is very versatile.

You just have to find the right products for your hair. Dont be afraid to experiment. She probably has her hair stretched. to acheive this look, on I wet hair I usually do 6 bring cornrows in the direction I want my hair to fall. Once the hair is mostly dry, I undo the jumbo braids add a moisturizer like shea butter, then re-braid it again. this gives me optiimum length while acheiving loose waves. this is a much better allternative to blow drying. hope this helps.
