@bppoupore they're 'acting retarded' it's retarded to feel your own music? If it moves you man, it moves you. sure they're exaggerating but he's happy as fuck, imagine nas called you and asked for a track. you wouldn't dancing like a fool?

There is a part of poetry where you freak out vowel sounds and consonance for harmony and blending words that don't rhyme by sound play but that beyond the scope of my comment
The bottom line is this is a MURS beat and not a Nas beat
Nas is not wack wack I just can see him if you know what I mean. Maybe thats on me
But on the song "We make the world go round" feat. the Game was a random pick and that song has a contast between a good structured flow and one that is off
Everything I said about the delayed off rhymes and rhymes that don't rhyme
He even sets up a punch line like this
dutch to up platinum to adds up to fashion to Michael Jackosn to what
But he did in a fucked up way were it just killed the groove
I saw Nas live here in Aus last month and he killed it to a sold out show. Seeing him preform One Mic with a full piece band was amazing.
And if you say your a fan of 9th then I bet 9th would probably say you are a complete moron too. Are you saying that 9th has no clue either because he remixed a whole album of Nas?
Nas have good raps when you read them typed out but they are too me not structured in a way that compliments the groove
You niggas are used to that wack shit I'm sorry I'm from an experienced hip hop generation that can spot that shit
And one more thing Nas don't connect his ideas in his lyrics he says a phrase and then paste on the end of that phrase another phrase besides the point
For example check the differnce in flow on the song
how can you say your from an experienced hip hop generation? The same hip hop generation that you claim you are from would be the same people who thought illmatic was fire
Actually at the time illmatic came out The west coast had the game on lock
the east coast wasn't where it was at At that time according to the westcoast, midwest or the south and even up north.
Mainly because of the sound of the tapes and Cds the beats was low and thin while everybody else had big beats. As simple as that It took a long time for the east coast to figure that out The East coast should thank Pdiddy because he was smart enuff to put Biggie on those type of beats
Actually to this day I a lot of east coast rappers still never figured it out.
And it was like this in NYC they played their music from headphones and small spots. But everywhere outside those types of places they bumped music in their rides on 12,15 inch speakers and in wide open places and houses.
So when you put in a east coast cd at a party ppl would say "C'mon man get that shit outta here"
NY was so unique a place that no one could relate with that lifestyle. But the West spoke to everybody
Coldgriphandle its obvious you don't listen to nas at all, do me a favor and tell me two songs that nas sounded the same on? His flow changes every song you got to be the dumbest dude on the planet to say some shit like that.
I wouldn't be saying this shit if I didn't know my shit
See before Nas brothers had flows like for example(but not in particular) a Percy P or a Kool G rap , a Guru or a Rakim
where you can delay your rhymes within a measure as long as they land on time and it sounded dope
Nas tried to structure his flow with pen and paper before a beat and his rhymes are delayed and thrown off too long to a point where the rhyme is not plush and by that time it don't even rhyme
Also you diss 9th Wonder in your other posts.... If you could rhyme or produce ANYTHING CLOSE to near the quality of these two, then you can talk shit.
You have got to be the dumbest person on the planet w/ the asinine analyst of the Nas....you obviously don't know shit about Hip Hop. He is one of the most influential rappers in the history of the game. Get ya mind fool.
Nas is only influential to those who don't know any better or only know wackness. When you place Nas against todays rappers of course he will seem like the cream of the crop
But when you know like I know and have chronicled dope Mc's from mid eighties and seen exactly the road Nas came down then you aren't too impressed because you see the predictability of him.
know dope rapers like you do? don't tell me who is and isn't dope.. you just lost all credibility cuz even people who don't like nas.... have enough sense to know he's near the top of dopest mc's of all time.... this is the last time i respond cuz i dont even respect your opinion with that asinine statement you made ...
If you could make anything near as good as that I'd love to hear it.
You are probably some college kid back packin' bedroom rapper.
Just know a dope beat when you hear it and shut your mouth. Nas is one of the all time greatest. Any cat who is on their game and in the community would laugh in your face if you actually said that in real life to anyone who knew remotly anything about hip hop...
Well if any one knew anything about hip hop they will know by now that Nas is not a beat rider he mumbles through the beat with ryhmes that don't catch on time.
Thats wack
Nas has always been overrated
Unfortunately thats all you know is wackness So its natural for you to think highly of Nas
Nas always wanted to be Rakim but Nas has no understanding of the deep knowledge he just throw up words and switch
I know my hip hop well and can't nobody tell me that Nas is doper than he really is
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I have to agree and disagree with a few things here. The beat is, in fact, a bust. NO GOOD, and im a huge fan of 9th wonders. BUT NaS is not overrated. That would be your sorry opinion ColdGripHandle.
Its also your sorry opinion that overrates him. Those who don't like Nas won't dig Nas and those that do will and thats just it. I bought Nas first album and the one with Lauryn Hill and after that I was done with Nas.
yea if you chop some part you don't even listen to on the record, it changes evertying, like prolly some strings right after a note he sings on a different tone
you know nas won't use this beat cos he's has a terrible ear for beats. instead of workin with preemo, PR and 9th wonder he'd rather do some shit with will i am or some other waste man
I Do Understand what you are saying but sometimes the simplest beats are the hottest, everything doesnt have to be put together like Dr. Dre. DJ Premier was the master of the simple beat with Gangstarr and it was the hottest.
It's a 2 way street and both are equally important! Nobody want to hear dope lyrics over a whack beat and vice versa! I'm a musician and i know a dope producer can bring out the best in an MC so i couldn't disagree with you more! It's like women? Looks (The beat) is what turns you on. It formulates the attraction. The substance is what seals the deal.
look at it this way...2Pac, Nas, and other ill MCs could just be given a guitar player and could spit over that. Hip Hop fans have lost themselves in beats, the roots of hip hop was to deliver a message not to loop a ill sample or listen to synths. Dont get me wrong, I listen to The Alchemist, 9th Wonder, Hi-Tek, J Dilla, Premier instrumentals all the time, I love a good beat. Just dont get too wrapped up in the beat, pay attention to the message.
Your absolutely right! I feel like the music carries a message as well! I see NAS as being a poet and Dilla in the same light. I think Dilla is the perfect example of wax poetics. So I think the important question we have to ask ourselves is what would Hip Hop be without the message or substance? That's more less the reality of today.
i think this beat is supa tuff - im not a huge fan of the second half after the drum roll. i think it sounds a bit repetitive.
the beat is sick but i would incorporate some of the first portion into the second. the energy declines in the second half and loses that " shaft" city light vibe. which is the funk in my opinion. peace jose mertz
on the contrary. this beat is a mixture of a raw dilla beat/ and his style. this shyt was gritty, its the piano loop that reminds you of a it was written track not the beat.
I'm not gonna say that the beat was bad because I like what 9th did with this a lot but I think he could have gave him something a lil better but I'm definitely lovin the beat tho...
Im a big fan of 9th wonder but I think he chose the wrong beat for nas.Very basic and not mind blowin for me and nas needs mind blowin beats ritght now!!!If you listen to god son remix album tell me the beats on that album were not better than this ?? I think 9th wonder/nas collab would be great but hes gotta come better. Im a hip hop fan and im still crying out for nas/primo nas/pete rock just one more time!!!
umm. 9th is one of my fav producers ever. And my skin bumped up when i first read he was doin a beat for nas. I must say i was really disappointed with the beat. Not only did I not like the arrangement, it annoyed me that he chose to use the barry white playing your game baby sample.. He killed that sample once with the night riders jont with buckshot. This song is nowhere near as good as that one. Wow, I'm glad they hookin up it's about time. But Nas needs to chose a better beat,
This beat is all over the place. Average at best. Im not feeling it. I dont share the same hype over this as 9th & everybody else. Give me a negative cause i feel differently, point is im not feelin the loop & the beat doesnt really compliment NAS's style(even though NAS could practically rock any beat). The loop sound more like some jay-z rocafella type ish(no hate). I hope NAS pass on this one. If not make it a unreleased track, but definitely not for a album.
9th man i'm surprised you would leak a beat you sent to nas....
now imagine for a minute if pete rock leaked the instrumental for the shut em down remix before you heard the song, or if primo leaked the superstar beat for group home (not that those lyrics were anything great). it would have diminished the impact of the song.with that being said i like the beginning of the beat but not the main sequence. peace!!
Here's the problem, recently, nas has taken to shock tactics to create publicity for his albums, so he names them in a way that generates publicity.
The problem with that is that shock factor doesn't last very long. It wears out very quickly.
And when he comes up with these statements that he then has to base his albums on, he boxes himself in creatively, and confines the content of the albums to one subject area. add that to some pretty average beats. and the results aren't good.
wow

a 9th beat is like an unboiled hot dog. it may look good, but it's really missing a lot.
returninginsurgent 2 years ago
I Do Understand what you are saying but sometimes the simplest beats are the hottest, everything doesnt have to be put together like Dr. Dre. DJ Premier was the master of the simple beat with Gangstarr and it was the hottest.
Rockchisler 2 years ago 5
agreed. still wack.
returninginsurgent 2 years ago
this 9th beat is knockin!!!
rdebs 2 years ago
I agree, when it starts becoming about the beat is where ppl are ruining rap. It should be about what the rapper is saying not the beat.
biggame561 2 years ago
It's a 2 way street and both are equally important! Nobody want to hear dope lyrics over a whack beat and vice versa! I'm a musician and i know a dope producer can bring out the best in an MC so i couldn't disagree with you more! It's like women? Looks (The beat) is what turns you on. It formulates the attraction. The substance is what seals the deal.
73KNIQU3 2 years ago
look at it this way...2Pac, Nas, and other ill MCs could just be given a guitar player and could spit over that. Just dont get too wrapped up in the beat, pay attention to the message.
biggame561 2 years ago 3
Your absolutely right! I feel like the music carries a message as well! I see NAS as being a poet and Dilla in the same light. I think Dilla is the perfect example of wax poetics. So I think the important question we have to ask ourselves is what would Hip Hop be without the message or substance? That's more less the reality of today.
73KNIQU3 2 years ago
Listen to what message?! How many women, benzes and chains the rapper has got?

whats the sample of the first beat?? straight fire...
upsyndrom 2 years ago
i think this beat is supa tuff - im not a huge fan of the second half after the drum roll. i think it sounds a bit repetitive.
the beat is sick but i would incorporate some of the first portion into the second. the energy declines in the second half and loses that " shaft" city light vibe. which is the funk in my opinion. peace jose mertz

He flipped the Barry White sample again...Beast mode!
wolatsim 2 years ago
just use this beat to promote the new album!

He flipped it SICK! The part with the piano should be the verse bit tho', IMO.
longbongsilver 2 years ago
nigga please @ Nas beat. This ain't 1996. This some It Was Written shit. Nas has evolved from this.
itsJoNada 2 years ago
on the contrary. this beat is a mixture of a raw dilla beat/ and his style. this shyt was gritty, its the piano loop that reminds you of a it was written track not the beat.
mendmatic 2 years ago
9th wonder is known for the illest sampling no matter what MC he makes a beat for LET IT BANG LIKE!!!
audid 2 years ago
I'm not gonna say that the beat was bad because I like what 9th did with this a lot but I think he could have gave him something a lil better but I'm definitely lovin the beat tho...
BigWoozi 2 years ago
Im a big fan of 9th wonder but I think he chose the wrong beat for nas.Very basic and not mind blowin for me and nas needs mind blowin beats ritght now!!!If you listen to god son remix album tell me the beats on that album were not better than this ?? I think 9th wonder/nas collab would be great but hes gotta come better. Im a hip hop fan and im still crying out for nas/primo nas/pete rock just one more time!!!
ezlee100 2 years ago
But Nas needs to chose a better beat,
Baxterstockman0332 2 years ago 2
DAYUM! This beat is perfect for Nas! I could so hear his voice spittin knowledge on this beat. Nas needs to rip this to shreds for the love of god!!

the beats complexity change up and progression makes it sick as fuck AND he got some instrumental play in there.
stealth313 2 years ago
I think Nas should pass this beat to AZ

RLX67 2 years ago
This beat is all over the place. Average at best. Im not feeling it. I dont share the same hype over this as 9th & everybody else. Give me a negative cause i feel differently, point is im not feelin the loop & the beat doesnt really compliment NAS's style(even though NAS could practically rock any beat). The loop sound more like some jay-z rocafella type ish(no hate). I hope NAS pass on this one. If not make it a unreleased track, but definitely not for a album.
qnznyc 2 years ago
Nigga, you crazy? SO not Jay-Z. But whatever man, opinions are opinions.
XtraClipz 2 years ago
9th man i'm surprised you would leak a beat you sent to nas....
now imagine for a minute if pete rock leaked the instrumental for the shut em down remix before you heard the song, or if primo leaked the superstar beat for group home (not that those lyrics were anything great). it would have diminished the impact of the song.with that being said i like the beginning of the beat but not the main sequence. peace!!

why is this guy (faheemb) STILL commenting on this video?? Do you not have a job homie?

Here's the problem, recently, nas has taken to shock tactics to create publicity for his albums, so he names them in a way that generates publicity.
The problem with that is that shock factor doesn't last very long. It wears out very quickly.
And when he comes up with these statements that he then has to base his albums on, he boxes himself in creatively, and confines the content of the albums to one subject area. add that to some pretty average beats. and the results aren't good.
faheemb 2 years ago
oh he needs to jump on that!!! 9th!!!! he needs to be fucking with you guys!!!
