Debra Messing is teaching her SON, ramon who is a baby It is a wonderful way to communicate with adults before they have verbal words.

I'm not trying to be rude, I just was rather surprised. I understand she is teaching that to her son, and yes it is appropriate to use that for a toddler. I love how the child used the sign accordingly to ask Mom to change the music. My daughter used sign before speech so I understand baby sign is different than ASL. I just was wide-eyed by Debra telling Ellen to use it for herself(Ellen) an adult.
