@Synnerligen I believe the reason she had no children is because she thought that her family has done enough to the country or she wasn't fertile

@Synnerligen that's why her virginity is so mysterious, at the time of her reign, it would've been crucial for a monarch to have a cemented heir to ensure continuation of her bloodline but she never did. Although her virginity and lack of ah usband did help her.

Also look at Elizabeth's sister Mary, who was bitterly unhappy, abandoned and lonely after her marriage to King Phillip. Then of course she had all the plotting around her when she was Mary's heir. So why marry and create her own problem?

@PrincessKLS He had far more than that but most of them were killed or died in early life. As well as that they would not have allowed a child that was illegimate to gain the throne. All three of his children ( Edward, Mary and Elizabeth) had been proclaimed lagitimate by their father.

ok this is quite dodgy... it implies that Anne Boleyn got her head chopped off because she delivered a girl :P in reality it was because her enemies accused her of adultery and witchcraft. Anne miscarried twice after Elizabeth, and this was the main reason for her downfall as it made her fall from the king's favour, so she became vulnerable to such accusations.
