So funny that the "Die waffen, legt an" sound from Red Alert was in this past Sunday's episode of Boardwalk Empire just after the tommy gun scene. I recognized it immediately!
I wish I could play this online...sigh I guess I'll have to find time...I think after my exams will be a fine time to vent my frustrations!!!MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Man this was awesome ... loved this game. I remember getting it then having to go on vacation with the family ... I brought the game booklet and read it like a thousand times before we got back. Hell March is probably one of the top ten greatest video game compositions.
Look, I know you retards posted that a year ago, but even then you dumbfucks should be squarely focused on Activision if you're really worried about this sort of thing.
EA is like a shining paragon of justice compared to those fuckers.
Without a doubt the best damn intro ever made! I remember when ra came out, me and my friends playedin awe and expectation just to see what the next brilliant cutscene brings. If you ask me ra 1 is definitely the best in the ra franchise, regardless of the improvements it's sequels may have introduced
I'll never forget the Dagger stabbing into the map and the entire map turns Red under the Soviet Influence. One of the most epic and memorable clips ever. It's a shame Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 3 lacked victory clips ....... the only victory clips I remember in Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 3 were the one's at the end. I liked how this game had both a "Mission accomplished" cutscene and a "Mission Failed" cutscene for each mission.
The Soviets and the Allies in this felt like proper armies just like their real life counterparts . I know the acting got a bit hammy at times but generally it was serious throughout the game. Red Alert one FTW The Sequels were good but they will never compare to this masterpiece.
i fking love the sound of the chronosphere. i also loved the idea that we dont know who that hitler killer is till the last mission. i wanna beat that guy who said ra series is about wacky science stuff and light hearted. ra was very serious and dark!
Awesome game... I remember winning this game as the Soviet Union. The last mission was (according the map) invading England hehe. The battleships in that last mission were annoying, and they attacked non stop, but eventually managed to beat it.
At least the first red alert had the feeling this really could have happened with einstein zapping hitler out of the timeline and with realistic units. Not nowadays with cryocopters and nanocores..uch
it's dumb when these new C&C games like C&C3 and Red Alert 3, there are music like "combat music" and "scouting music". Old C&C games were better because they had music players :)
I fucking hate EA, i miss the old way to listen to music, where you could choose the song you wanted to listen to. I hate this "Song goes along with the mood of the battle" bullshit. It would be cool if you could decide to listen to individual songs or "Go as the mood"
this is more better, in fact this shows realism since it is more centered on the cold war era. I guess, only stalin is the real person in the story, the rest? fiction.
Wow do I miss this game. I remember playing this for hours on end when I was 10-11. Smeltr you took the words right outta my mouth...almost bring s a tear remembering how fun being a kid was.
I almost lost a few tears looking on this video :) Quite a big part of my childhood is in this beautiful game. Red Alert, and Command & Conquer are the oldest from collections of them, but they are also the best for me!
even if i was a little kid when i got this, it was a game that i still play 12 years later. awesome and defenitly in the RTS hall of fame alongside Starcraft, Warcraft and C&C
Ah... I remember watching this intro over and over in my adolescence. It influenced a great interest of scifi/military entertainment intake for the next ten years... I wasn't a very social kid, which is why I don't have a girlfriend today.:( *Damb this video and its 90's epicness!
"Hell March" by Frank Klepacki. The music he created for the Command & Conquer series (along with so many other Westwood games) sticks in my head more easily than any other music. If you like this song, you should check out all the Command & Conquer soundtracks.
*sigh* the 90s truly was the golden age of PC gaming. Titles like Magic Carpet, Theme Park, Descent, Monkey Island, Rise of the triad, Syndicate, Warcraft 2 and Command and Conquer where just some of the gems that made my life complete back in those days and I STILL believe the intros for Red alert and Warcraft 2 where some of the greatest motion video moments in gaming history ever devised. God Bless them
top theme and awesome opening sequence. the tank crashing the wall part is my fav.i can't name a better opening sequence ever in a computer game. MGS1 opening sequence came a distant second in my book.
