Why? You dont need effects to sound good. They are an augmentation of your sound and alot of the time sound good, but they are hardly needed. Too much effects = crap. Also, no effects at all = sometimes boring. Its really about finding a good balance.

Alot of luthiers have been down on PRS's for a while now and according to people who inspect them and used to love them (like Ed), their newer productions fail to meet the standards of their older instruments.
