I am sorry but this beats Renee by a looooong shot. For one thing Royal doesn't compromise music. Second her voice doesn't go breathy like Renee. Renee loses tone a lot of the time which I find annoying. Great work Kate.

She is amazing! Great voice! She is better than Popp, because Popp is from Slovak and we have almost the same language! It had to be so dificult to learn czech pronunciation for Kate. We have horrible letters as "ř" "č" or "ě" (for example sentence - řekni mu stříbrný měsíčku). But Kate's articulation was so great. Sometimes i didn't believe that she is English! Amazing!
But the best version of this song is from Milada ŠUBRTOVÁ.
@operagirlify She reminds me a lot Lucia Popp he pu(a superb Song to the Moon) by tr purity and the beauty of her voice. Renée Fleming has a great technique but not so much a beautiful voice like Popp's or Royal.

If you imagine that this music of Dvorak is the expression of all the emotions, longings and desires of RUSALKA you can be very proud of thinking and speaking czech! Kate Royal is singing a great and most touching song to the moon, pretty close to the genuine Lucia Popp who is a born slavonic lady.
