  • should have left them as outtakes lol

  • you are amazing.

  • this isnt really a outtake video, generally something goes wrong but he nails it all the time

  • Putting graphite on my NUT :') Lmao.

  • i like eddie but (this is my opinion now) this dudes got him matched

  • Are you sure you didn't mean, "Riffguy Excerpts"?! I hardly saw anything wrong except for the picture quality in some of the "EXCERPTS"!

  • 3:15 that song u ever posted before?

  • 2:38 sounds like a song you played in your "Riffguy at 21 in hollywood"

  • awesome!!!

  • To make ur tremolo stay in tune make the tremolo flush with body oil neck or pencil graphite and u add the extra spring in it.

  • Epic shredding as usual. props RG!

  • Lol nice IBC rootbeer

  • you got way to much money :( anyway niiiccaaaa vid.

  • i love you man =] just lyk angus!

  • you should seriously make a shred/jam video in A minor thats always a fun set of scales to play with :p

  • Hey dude figured i'd send you a message asking what guitar, pickups, and amp you got take your time on the responce... peace

  • Well....I've got a bunch of Strats, Les Pauls, SG's and a whole lot of others. The amps are all Marshall and my pickups are mostly Gibsons and Riffbuckers.

  • Excellent man !

  • Hey riffguy, do you keep your strat bridges floating or flat?

  • I find they stay in tune better when they float. I set mine so my low E string goes up a half step when I pull up.

  • You really like Gibson SGs don't you?

  • Riffguy, how is it that you can use the trem on a strat and still remain in tune? whenever i use my strat's trem it goes way out

  • The main thing is you need to eliminate as much friction from the nut as possible. Try using 1000 grit sandpaper to polish the slots, then add some graphite from a pencil.

The bridge should also be set up so it floats...I set it up so when I pull up on the arm, my low E goes sharp by a half step.

Once it's set up this way, if it goes out of tune a bit, just lightly move the arm up & down and it should return to tune.

  • I'll get right on that! thanks riffguy =]

  • you need to get those slots cleaned like Paul said, but also getting a new nut might help. Fender sells a string nut called an LSR Gliding nut that lets the strings sit on a wheel. They are kinda expensive (Around 40 bucks), but I got one for my strat and it's awesome. Most of my guitars have floyd roses so having a tremolo going out of tune sucked big time. Seriously , get this thing, you won't be disappointed .

  • riffguy, do you use a variac? ive been dyin to know cuz ur gettin perfect brownsound there

  • Nope, no variac here. Variacs are pretty hard on tubes which is one of the reasons I never wanted to go that route. Most of the distortion I get is from preamp gain. My modifications simulate a heavily overdriven output stage, but it's not working hard at all.

  • i love the ovation(:

  • Wow stuff you did not post, this is awesome stuff mate! Thanks

  • very very good amazing the best toca muito caraca da hora muito bom incrivel....

  • when r u going on vacation? I wanna break into your house... bo not afraid! just to jam! :D

  • 2:07 was pretty priceless

  • yngwie has a brother?

  • Awesome video, outtakes are good enough to come up with a 2nd YouTube channel.

    5 *

    Robin :o)

  • Really liked the 2nd part with the SG , whats the best way to build up that sorta speed riffguy?

  • @Thejollyguitarist in his case maybe 20 years of practice and playing ;)

  • Years of practice.....hahaha!

Seriously, I think the best way to improve your speed is to try and play as efficiently as possible. Try to use the most comfortable scale patterns along with the least finger movement you can get away with. Also, make sure you synchronise your picking hand with your fretting hand.

The most important thing is to start slow and play it properly first, then gradually increase your speed, otherwise it will just sound like crap.

  • Bro, even the outtakes have some excellent riffs in them!

  • 1:48 to 2:06 brings a whole new definition to bottleneck playin' or the fact that booze helps you unwind and play better :)).

    Rock on, brilliant chops

  • you play faster than the speed of AWESOME

  • wow

its like children of bodom meets steve morse...

  • you need to become famous G3 with VAI AND SATCH

  • psh I play just like this guy...with...two hands...a pick...a guitar...an amp...

  • lol i was hoping for some mess ups and freak outs but it was sick

  • Hehe, at 3:15 or thereabouts the camera can't capture the fingers.

  • His acoustic guitar because of his effects at the part with the beer bottle sounds like it's farting. The little boy inside me went teehee.

  • Dude Your AMAZING!

  • 0:07 to 1:18 wow....drooling on my keyboard

  • dude, that shredding was insane

  • You're brilliant, Riffguy!

  • You can drink a beer. Also you can use a bottle as a slide. Genius.
