When I came to watch this video the first thought that came to my mind was I wonder what race her parents are? And then I was watching the video and it was like playing music and not talking about her race and I was like wtf? then I looked at the comments and thought "thanks youtube posters for being such experts on human genealogy."

you are confusing ethnicity with citizenship. her father is from pakistan, yes, but is called khan ( a mongolic word for ruler) and has given her daughter asian traits such as slanted eyes, upturned nose and mongolic cheekbones. remeber that in pakistan there are not just indo-iranians but also turkic and mongolic tribes. i think it is, thus, safe to say she is half asian and half indo-european. as for her citizenship she is british, as far as i know.

She is 1/2 Pakistani and 1/2 English, another reason why she is pretty IMO. It seems to come out nice when one is mixed.

it's originally a mongolic word for "ruler", and seeing as there are a lot of mongols/ turks in pashtun... it's highly unlikely she's actually semitic (arabic) or indo-european (on her father's side). but anyways. nice voice. :)

what do you know? i got down rated for informing some guy (who wondered about her ethnicity in the first place) that she's asian. does that mean being asian is unfit for her, or in other words, a negative thing? aah so that's where the little closet racists were hiding!

Her father is a Pashtun, and Pashtun's are technically an Indo-European people related to other Iranian groups (I should know, my last name is "Khan" and I am of Pashtun ancestry) so I would say that she has Indo-European ancestry on both sides. But I agree, the people who seem most concerned about Asian being a negative thing seems strange. I see myself as "Asian" and proud of it.

you are confusing ethnicity with citizenship. her father is from pakistan, yes, but is called khan ( a mongolic word for ruler) and has given her daughter asian traits such as slanted eyes, upturned nose and mongolic cheekbones. remeber that in pakistan there are not just indo-iranians but also turkic and mongolic tribes. i think it is, thus, safe to say she is half asian and half indo-european. as for her citizenship she is british, as far as i know.

No Im not confusing the two.. I have slanted eyes and the exact same nose as she does but im 1/2 American black and 1/2 Austrian ..How the hell do you think the all these races and tribes came to be? Through mixing!!..She IS Pakistani and considers herself so. And she actually has a very Pakistani look. Maybe her Great Great Great Great grandfather had the last name Khan.
If you want to go that far back into her genealogy then we are all African.

you know, after first seeing her on jimmy fallon, i was intrigued by the music being totally "mystical". i began to wonder later if she had anything to do with native americans. after seeing this and pearl's dream i cant help but think this is so true.
i find the music and her style to be fairly enchanting. i dont know what to say now other than this is good stuff :)
