Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac aren't really private corporations, they were created by the federal government as part of the Great Society social programs of the 30s and 60s in order to loan money to "disadvantaged" people who couldn't afford to buy a house.

When will we learn that socialist democrats push disastrous economic policies?
