  • Why didn't the US made a film about their own slave trade? Is very easy to blame on others. The main slave traders between Africa and America (it is, the continent) were the French, the Portuguese and the US people. By the way, the leader of the riot ended up his days as a slave trader in his native country.

  • Great experience these kids had.

  • She spent a week docked at the marina I was working at. Improved the view vastly.

  • I just got off of the ship a few days ago and it was honestly the best time of my life so far. It's hard work, but it's all worth it.

  • Thanks for clearing that up for me. I would love to sail on her one day.

  • Good story, but I was told that ship has bed bugs.

  • That's just a gossip. Your "source" is wrong.

  • that trip to newport was fun! i miss you guys

  • The story of Amistad has inspired me to do better to contribute to society by remembering my African ancestors and doing the best i can. my goal for now is to get through the 7th grade and change the world change the future by honoring the past

  • Watch the movie made in 1997

  • Living the story of the AMISTAD seems to have truly made an impact in the lives of these young men.

I have been priviledged enough to visit the AMISTAD the crew and the Captain were excellent and a way of bringing the inspirational story of the AMSTAD to life. It was a group called Amistad America... Wish I could sail with them...including the hard work...without the storm too!

Very well done....would love to see more!

  • I too wish there were more. Just making it, on this one is a "success" for these young men. A life's lesson is either a profound physical/emotional experience or a long education. This profound experience I believe will lead to a long education to be pursued by these young men. I bet they will leave their mark on all of us one day. They experienced life, it's meaning, and our insignificance in such a huge world. These young men are lucky and I truly believe they know it and understand it.

  • Wonderful! A very well done video. Wish there was more to tell the full story!
