When i was a small kid I got bullied by a bunch of kids, i went back with a steal pipe and beat the crap of them, after i beat the crap of them i knew i had done something wrong, but I didnt understand how serious it was. after reading the posts here its obvious what some would have called me if one of the kids I had beaten up would have died. Im not a psyhopat today, i never do something illegal, i dont even download movies for free.
i retliated against bullies with sticks all the time and ike you said i did not know the severity of my acts, but then again i as a child still had to protect myself and a stick was my weapon of choiceand man did i ever beat the snot out of some kids.
too bad their parents didnt involve themselves in their childrens educations and allowed them to run around the streets harrassing people with no punishment for it.
As a criminal justice administration major, I know for a fact that "coercement", which is exactly what took place, is wrong in every sense of the word. This boy should not be convicted, NOT because of age, because coercement is wrong. I can't believe they are offering a plea deal...his lawyer had better step up to the plate!
did he ever say why he did it? i mean, was he pissed at him thinking "im going to point the gun at him b/c then he will go away" or was it a complete accident? please fill me in.
Blame the show "family guy" for this, the baby stewie is always fantasising of killing his mother and his always wishing hes dad was dead, kids look up to this, be very careful what your shows or movies your kids watch.
Why do people keep saying people as old as 8 don't understand the consequences of their own actions?
Seriously, they aren't idiots. 8 year olds should be aware that guns kill and that every action has consequences, unless they have some form of mental disorder
I wont say what he did was right, but for fuck sakes he's 8. Something is AND was definitely wrong here. Do we condemn him as an A-typical murderer or find out what set this child off? The ones who are quick to condemn aren't obviously worthy of God's pity nor forgiveness because it seems their perfect than Jesus. Dont act as if any 8 year old holds the capacity to undertsand thier actions like an adult. Yeah he might knows what a gun is but he doesnt see the ramifications of WHAT HES DONE, cmon
The boy knew exactly what he was doing - And told Child Protective Services that if they didn't help him, then he would have no other choice but to defend himself from the interminable beatings!
This child is a hero!
Too bad other Americans are too weak to speak up against despots; otherwise Bush & Cheney would be in a Federal Prison!
we don't know if these kinda things happened forty years ago. Maybe they did, but it just never hit news. I remember that a lot of psycho killing happened during the 50's and sixties. Pedophile rape and etc. Its just that the truth took forty years to uncover.
I would have to disagree. I am sure there were things like this that happened, however I do think cases like this have increased by the HUNDRED THOUSANDS. violence has reached an all time high!!!! but why?
Remember when you were that age? Did you commit any crimes? If not, why not? Answer: you were in mortal fear of the cops, that's why! Unless you were a bully, which is exactly what criminals, be they 8-80 are, and therefore deserve not one ounce of consideration from the very society that they intended to victimize. Also, take in consideration of these "kids' rights" movements that we hear about now. O.K., fine, but with rights come the responsibilities of your actions!
hey dont be so hard hes 8 and got access to a gun and just played with it thats what 8 yr old boys do but with toy guns he got the real thing.and again hes 8 and has a right to spend a holiday with his mom and goes back in custody
He wasn't "just playing around". He planned out these killings. He shot them while sleeping, in the back of the head, stopped to reload the gun, and then fired in their heads again. Whether he's 8 or 28, does that sound like an accident to you?
"Although he's considering the plea deal he's not sure his client would understand the proceedings..." hmmmm we'll let's tell him to put down his crayons for a moment so we can explain what a plea deal is shall we?
Lol, there are plenty godless people who are good, law-abiding citizens. For that matter, there are many godly folks who murder in the name of religion.
Ha, ha. They allowed the kid to go home for Thanksgiving as long as the Mother removed any guns or knives. What did they use to carve the damn turkey? KFC's spork?
Tragic =*(

The police need to be investigated for coercing the child. I think the police shot the two men and the child is being used as a scapegoat.

The boy warned Child Protective Services that he would not be able to take too many more beatings!
Child Protective Services needs to be on trial
Can someone please tell me why this child is being demonized? He is guilty of nothing more than being born in the wrong place!
What twisted culture would blame this child for protecting himself?!
What silly country!

Let's break it down:
Remember when you were that age? Did you commit any crimes? If not, why not? Answer: you were in mortal fear of the cops, that's why! Unless you were a bully, which is exactly what criminals, be they 8-80 are, and therefore deserve not one ounce of consideration from the very society that they intended to victimize.
