  • If there was an actual orchestra which actually did this, I would definitely go!

  • i love the bottles soon be filled vith saliva whahahaha

  • cool

    nice tribute to any beer...

  • Wow~ That's so cool :D

  • Wie cool is das denn xD

  • To clear up some questions: sorry, the music was not played live for the ad (would have been near impossible), but pre-recorded by a subset of the musicians you see in the ad, using actual beer bottles. I was amongst the professional musicians from Melbourne orchestras and bands who took part in the filming, which was at Hamer Hall/ Melbourne Concert Hall (same thing). It was one of the weirder gigs we'd ever done, and a lot of fun. Glad people seem to enjoy watching!

  • What beer bottle did you play?

  • bahhh.. that kinda ruins the magic a tad :\

  • @FreeRangeVids but it's fairly obvious that the music was pre-recorded, if only because with all those camera shots they'd be getting the other cameras in the shots all the time!

  • @FreeRangeVids Challenge accepted!! Check out my profile for our first 2 live bottle performances, this could be the next step!

  • @lemoncurryrules AWESOME!

I added a link to your vid in the description.

  • @FreeRangeVids Thanks very much! :D

  • @davnats Thank you for being a part of this, and many thanks to the orchestra. It has brought us many smiles!

  • i've seen the making of in TV

    really great :D

  • ahh i love it.... just love symphony orchestras like this!

  • lol so cool

  • It's a great VB ad.

  • yeah, pure genius. :) perfect music.

  • my uncle is in this vid

  • Which one is he?

  • the one with the VB stubby

  • Thats Mad

    go Victoria Bitter

    lol

  • Hahahaha. ROCK AWESOME.

  • this is the coolest thing people can do with beer bottles

  • i think i'd know what the place is called, i've performed there 3 times.

  • It does say Melbourne Concert Hall at the end of the video. Not that I have been there or to Hamer Hall to know if you are right or not.

  • @FreeRangeVids it's hamer hall, although it's going to close down for a year and half for renovations as of next month :(

  • @FreeRangeVids It used to be the Melbourne Concert Hall. It was opened in 1982, and was later renamed Hamer Hall in honour of Sir Rupert Hamer (the 39th Premier of Victoria) shortly after his death in 2004. Hope that clears anything up :D

  • is this sampled or this is played for real!??!?!?!

  • I believe it's 100% real

  • This is the coolest thing ever because it was actually played and not edited. It's the sort of thing that can only be done with proffesional musicians. Plus think of the fact that they had to tune every single insturment (bottle) and how many takes it had to to get that timpani bounce right. This is pure genuis.

  • Wow! Pure genius!

  • Wow, that was epic. 8D

  • hehehe.. how nice.. a commercial for a beer anf it wan in musical as that... wow... really amazing....

  • that is awesome!! lol i might have to try it haha

  • AWESOME!

  • xDDD

  • the guy at the front at 0:24, 0:35 and 1:00 used to teach me percussion. his name's sergey =]

and the place they're playing at is hamer hall. my school performs there for our end-of-year thing.

    :D

  • its not hamer hall its melbourne concert hall...

  • Pure Classic -

  • Parts of it sound like the theme from "The Magnificent Seven."

  • Is this the actual jingle for the beer? I was thinking it sounded like a takeoff on "The Magnificent Seven" myself when I first watched it.

  • It's been the jingle for 50 or 60 years I think.

One of the old ads here: watch?v=4wfgi9hGx1o

  • lol wow...

  • whats the song?

  • the VB tune.

  • this is cool!

  • I love it how he laughs in a: that-was-totally-awesome sort of way.

  • O

    M

    G

    IT's Great

  • OMG!!! So clever!

  • usualy a conductor would sigh before the show to clear his mind...i think this guy was like "here goes nothin"

  • nice this is so cool

  • we live surrounded of sounds and images, we only have the to see that with some attention and organize it to create!

    very good work!

  • That's gotta be the coolest thing I've ever seen! LOL!

  • This ad is so Australian.

Only Australian's would go this far to advertise their beer.

    I love this ad.

  • amazing..haha

  • nel senso che sono tutti sbronzi???

  • that'd be so damn hard to co-ordinate, like gettin all the bottles tuned right an then actually playing it.... wow.

  • think about how they actually got all the bottles... xD

  • Matter o fact I've got one now!!

  • Hey this is cool :D Is there any way I could get the clip for a school pro?

    Has it been on tele?

  • I bet god started to drink beer after he saw this video!

  • hmmm.... the audience seems to have left.

  • fantastic

  • Beer bottles, other bottles as well as beer and wine glasses are excellent instruments. They can be used as Helmoltz tubes (especially the bottles) or as vibrating walls (like tuning forks). The oscillations can be excited in many different ways, such as plucking, rubbing, blowing etc. Instruments based on glasses have been used for centuries and there are even compositions specifically for such media.
  • lol

  • Lol. If they air it, it is going to PISS ME OFF !

    but its cool anyway.

  • I saw it on TV this week for the first time.

  • w00t

  • They are playing my melody. :)

  • love it!

  • ukulele orchestra of great britain play on beer bootles

    super awesome!

  • well since this hasnt aired on t.v yet im assuming thts why its not popular yet. coz this is classic stuff. anyway. i got thrid comment on it. YEAH!!
