  • The lead singer has an awesome figure, and shes beautiful as well just Incredible.

  • The 90's are coming back thanks to gaga . The only problem is they were actually good times. Economy wise & the music reflected that. To bring the music back is disingenuous to the times. This was the times.

  • ETV Network? Haven't seen that name in a while. Great post!!!

  • thank you for sharing!!

  • I used to roller skate to this song when I was young. LOL!!! I miss this music.

  • I prefer the original by Taana Garner- That's the one I knew first.

  • @emmettk Me too and I was only 2 when Taana's version came out. My mom used to play it throughout the 80's.

  • i just saw stanford from sex and the city at the beginning of the video...i love this song..

  • @wembley77 who cares its an amazeing song

  • it was in the UK Charts in April 1990, peaked at no.75

  • Michelle Visage has a Madonnaesque style to her in this video

  • @wembley77

Taana Gardner sung the original in which her album was released in 1981.

  • This is such a cool song. I miss late 80s, early 90s dance music.

  • @jacarandas82 me too

  • The best version EVER!!

  • mmm LADY gaga influence ?

  • Got it when it came out on tape ;-) Love the rolodex and the dial phone in this video-hee hee. 80's & 90's were fun

  • THIS SONG CAME OUT IN 1983

  • @xdortiz32 No, 1989.

  • LOVE IT

  • I just went to a bar this past wednesday that had a DJ playing oldschool hiphop and she played this song.. i was like, "AAWWWWE WHAT??!!".. it was pretty awesome..

  • this is when music was awesome

  • @ :48 that's stanford from sex and the city lol...

  • one question why didnt the camera person show the lead singer that much? great song!

  • FUCKIN AMAZING!

  • this will mix in good with soul II sould... ;0)

  • LOL at 0:48 isn't that Willie Garson("Stanford" from SATC)??

  • @perryr07 yes i caught that too lol...good observation

  • 80's & 90's the best

  • i read the lead singer got too big for her britches, so they broke up

  • Hell Yeah This Is The Jam Be Bumpinq Thiss!! All dayy!

  • This is still my jam. Love it!

  • this song is so ILL bring back the late 80s early 90s

  • Oh Snap, SWV sampled this song kinda in their "You're the One Allstar Remix", I've been trying to figure it out because the part when SWV sangs, " I know,..you're the one for me!" sounds just like when Seduction sangs, "heartbeak...u make me feel...so weak!"

  • Didn't Gwen Stefani copy the same look as Michelle later on??

  • Ini Kamoze - Here Comes The Hotstepper 1992 sampled f/ "Heartbeat" by Seduction 1989

  • @incdogrobber Ini Kamoze didn't originate this sample. It was a lady name Taana Gardner who also had a song called ''Heartbeat' in 1981. She's the originator of this sample. I actually thought it was Ini Kamoze myself.

  • Dope as hell, Seduction's remake of this '70's dance song still rocks!!!

  • did you know that madonna's manager at the time, Freddy the man, threaten to sue Visage , the blonde in the video, cause her look was too close to madonna's. The vogue period-)

  • I remember that when the big issue was over Madonna's look and that copying her was a big no no. I think people should dress whomever they like, whether they're famous or not. People were copying Madonna during the early 80's and no one sued them. I copied Madonna even with the Express Yourself pin stripe look.

  • I know.. it's so silly. i mean, before Madonna, women dyed their hair platinum and had it that same length and after Madonna, women did the same thing... so why would Michelle be singled out? Maybe because she was a singer too and when you look at her, her facial features are a bit similar to Madonna's so maybe they felt they could go after her being that she is making money off of the "look", versus a regular average woman "non celebrity"?

  • not one for remixes, this one is sic

  • Nostalgie

  • GREAT remake od the Taana Gardner classic! :)

  • this is my Jam to this day!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • "It Takes Two" and "Could This Be Love" were Seduction's other 2 hits

  • "Now u know this makes no kind of sense, walking 'round here so intense.....u make my..heartbeat...u make me feel...so weak...that was the jam back in the day!!!!

  • i thought this girl was black when i was a lil girl im 39 now damn i use to model to this in my back yard in rochester

  • OMG this used to be my damn song!!!!

  • C&C.verynice

  • i like it but its too long

  • LCAINE22: It's the Club Remix, which was perfect back in the day to dance to!

  • i looooove this song...way ahead of its time!

  • madonna stole her look that girl was a singer for a long time before she joined seduction she has talked about it in interviews

  • the beat sounds like da la souls buddy

  • Classic...this is during the good days of good music....

  • omg lol the 90's in northeast philadelphia block party yo...

  • This was not the Martha Wash controversial song. That song was "Gonna Make You Sweat".

  • The Seduction song that Martha Wash sang was their first single "You're My One and Only (True Love)."

  • Actually something that was in the news back then, the lead ( Caucasian singer here; Carol Cooper, was lip syncing. Martha Walsh was the real lead singer behind the voice, and she sued C7C factory producers Civilles & Cole) only because they tried to wash her out. She was content to stay in the back and sing the lead, but they had to get greedy. Incidentally Marsha Walsh sung back up lead for many groupss, awesome voice, but her image did'nt match the voice!

  • CAMMICTY: Hold up... shut up a second and listen... In this video the white girl's name is Michelle Visage. (Who is Carol Cooper, by the way??)

And the name is Martha Wash, not "walsh." Wash eventually sued for monetary damages, mainly for the C+C work she did.

Although Wash did sing lead on "You're My One and Only (True Love)," that's the only Seduction track where that occurred. April Harris (the black girl) is singing the lead on this track, "Heartbeat." NOT Martha Wash.

  • better than the taana gardner version

  • Why does the blond girl look like a wannabe madonna?

  • This was before Madonna..

  • This was not before Madonna. Madonna was out in the early 80's. This is 1990.

  • I stand corrected. I do apologize...

  • @AstroPhysicks thats right...madonna looked like that in summer 89 in the express yourself-clip...seduction came out half year later with two to make it right...

  • have a look at madonnas express yourself video from 1989...the blonde girl looks exactly like her.

  • The song was before Madonna and Seduction it's my girls song, ( big hit) of 1980 Taana Gardner! The beat has been remixed several times!

  • I like that they sped up the beat for this version. But Taana is the best!! You can't beat Tanna's crisp voice and the bass solo in the original ! They went over the bass solo in this one with extra beats.

  • I have a couple of those Taana Gardner 12" singles... great song!

  • Madonna actually ripped off her style at this time.

  • IDALIS is a 10!!!

  • didn know it was racist

  • ok...what is racist about this video???

  • now thats what I am talkin about

  • I am favoriting this because it is Isaac's favorite. 12/8/50- 05/24/09

  • I still jam to this it holds up.

  • HOLY SHIT, I LoVe this SoNg ;-)

Thanks for the post. U Rock

  • i take that back.this video is dope.

  • this video is weird.

  • I miss this music like baaaaaaaaaad....

  • I read somewhere in a magazine last year that the girls are getting back together to release a new album...anything? I am really looking forward to it, because the only album they ever made did not dissappoint...I still listen to it today from beginnng to end...I love this CD...Go 'head Seduction...Do Your THANG, Girls!!! Sexy Mamas, YES!!!!

  • Michael Bay Director of Armageddon & Transformers Team up with Drummer Nicky Shea of STARR for this awesome Heartbeat Video.

  • the orginal verison by taana gradenwas my moms fav song when she wasa kid she used todancearound the table mygrandmother told me. but any way its still BLACKPOWER!

  • It's all good, it's alright ...

  • What pissed me off about this video is the clear cut racism shown in it. The lead singer on this song is barely shown and most of the focus is on the background singers or to be honest mainly the whites.

Thats why I would never spend money on albums like this or videos that focus more on whites then all members equally

  • Since Seduction, Sweet Sensation, and C+C Music Factory were groups created by a *Black* record company and *black* producers, I sincerely doubt it was racism.

    You swung and you missed.

  • WOW!!! Nobody spent money on it. We heard it in the club!! Racist???? UUUMMMMMMMMM

  • some just made themselves sound like a douche...lol

  • Nah, can't see it sorry.

  • Get over yourself! Not everything is about racism! If you watch their other videos you will see that isn't the case.

  • The lead singer is barely shown? I saw her quite a number of times... and remember... this is a girl group, so they HAVE TO focus on the other singers too! Not everything is racist conspiracy; get over it. At least she sang lead on a lot of their songs and they also gave the blonde (Michelle) lead on songs too, to balance it out. And for the record, there is another woman of color in the group, a latina, so there! Sheeeesh.

  • One of these ladies ended up being an MTV VJ . She was Idalis Leon, I remember her talking about being in a girl group before being on MTV.

  • Yeah Sonyal95... Idalis is still around, doing acting here and there. She was on Six Feet Under for a little while, and was in the movie "Running Scared" in like 2007.

  • wow what a throw back

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. I was looking for this for a long time and was thrilled to this classic was available. Much Love....

  • This was cool, but none of the remakes have topped Taana Gardner's original version. De La Soul's "Buddy" remix might've equaled it, though.

  • This was straight up 1990, my senior year. Dayum I loved that song, wished I had their tape! Thanks for the video!

  • this song gives me a high...love it!
