My walls were plastered with Randy. I am now a professional guitarist and I will always cite Randy as "my main influence!" This solo gives me goose bumps! Randy is on my fridge and I see him daily!!!!
My childhood was great because I was listening to Randy Rhoads's music and I still am on most days, thanks for all the great tunes and solos Randy Rhoads, you're always missed.
@mriver72 Lol!!! Brad isnt on a "MSG" album DUMB ASS lol jk man. I guess you're referring to "Speak of the Devil" that was actually recorded at the Ritz in NY. The gig during the DOAM Tour in 82 at Madison Square Garden was actually performed with Bernie Torme on lead guitars. :) RIP Randy
y'know what's great about rhoads? that you don't hear only the notes playing, you can also feel his soul, so the guitar becomes only an intermediate. i think you know that already ;)
@moschitta75 This is Randy. Its taken from the Tribute album from 1987. This track in particular was recorded during the original Blizzard of Ozz UK tour in 1980. With Lee Kerslake on drums and Bob Daisley on Bass. Its the Southhampton gig i do believe. Same show the "Mr. Crowley Live EP" was recorded.
@Robthewild1 Yea. I've heard a few versions of GTR in my collection of bootlegs, ad some of them would never be able to be as good quality as this one. The show in Southhampton, though, is one of the best shows I've heard, so it may be from then. Everything else, but No Bone Movies, came from the Cleveland Ohio show in 81
@Robthewild1 and that too lol! I like that one better than the one from cleveland, but I like the rhythm and in song solo from the one from cleveland, so its a win win
@Robthewild1 : In 1988 I listened to this song for the first time, It totally blew me away. Until that point I had survived on a diet of 'pop music' I couldn't believe the emotion that Randy managed to convey through a guitar. I feel slightly proud, as I live in Southampton to think that it was recorded at the local Gaumont Theatre (now the Mayflower) some 8 years previously!! If only, as a nine year old, I had developed a better taste in music and actually been there!
