The supra motor is a pretty cool motor. But, I do have to agree that it is pretty pointless to do this swap. A turbosupra (stock), is putting out as much power as say a 383 stroker (stock). And you are probably adding weight by putting that 2jz on there. Its a cast iron block WITH all the extra parts a turbo needs: intercooler, piping, actual turbo, etc. still a cool sounding motor tho

@pyro74boy The 67 Camaros motor would never hold near as much power and be as durable as a 2JZ dude, please read up on the 2JZ and learn something. A 2JZ is your ordinary everyday engine, straight out of Toyota's and Lexus. Your drag cars that you see on the strip DO NOT USE an everyday Chevy block, they are built and tuned in RACE SHOPS, and do not come in any factory vehicles. Just because it says "350" or w/e doesnt mean its a GM 350, its probably a Merlin 350 race block. BIG DIFFERENCE

Really Hp doesnt mean shit anymore. Its all tires, suspension and weight. I have seen 600HP supras own 1000Whp cameros and mustangs. So it really depends on how you build the car. And im not against american or jap motors, actually alot of drifters are putting in Lsx motors because of power to weight making it easier to throw sideways from torque.lines between muscle and import arent far anymore. Whatever is fast is fast. isnt 427 big block? I like the 383 stroker myself. nasty
@JissenKenbuu I agree with you about the tires for the most part because I have also seen 1200 plus Horsepower supras getting owned by corvettes running much less HP. My issue wih the supra boys is that they think when they are ruunning this much power that they can beat a space ship atleast thats how that act . I also laugh when they show videos of supras running way more hp then the car they are racing like it or not even highly modded supras are not unbeatable. The 383 is a great motor.
uh i was with your argument till i read that. With dry sump system for oil reason on the ls1-3 motors i have seen people make 800hp on mustang dyno, stock block WELL tuned. Though the 2jz is alot more tuner friendly block the ls1 has its advantages mainly power to weight. The 2jz is a biiiig heavy motor. Ls1 is all alluminum and weighs less then the ka24de from a 240sx. i love 2jz and imports but you have to give v8s alittle more credit for power to weight and cost its hard to beat.

See with the 2jz we have this nice thing where you can turn down the boost so the 2jz only puts out 300 or so hp because its still an inline 6. Then when you wanna RUN the car you turn the boost up and suddenly it has the power of a v12. So i would rather the car that is SAFE to drive on the streets then the 2000Hp muscle car where you put your foot down end up lane next to you.

Anyway, what is "crazy power"? 1000hp? Are you aware there are Chevy engines making 2500+ horsepower? A race prepped turbo 2JZ may get you 1500 hp, for example. But a race prepped turbo V8 can get you 2500+ hp. Actually, there are many different engines that can make "crazy power", but there's no replacement for displacement.

The supra motor is a pretty cool motor. But, I do have to agree that it is pretty pointless to do this swap. A turbosupra (stock), is putting out as much power as say a 383 stroker (stock). And you are probably adding weight by putting that 2jz on there. Its a cast iron block WITH all the extra parts a turbo needs: intercooler, piping, actual turbo, etc. still a cool sounding motor tho

@pyro74boy The 67 Camaros motor would never hold near as much power and be as durable as a 2JZ dude, please read up on the 2JZ and learn something. A 2JZ is your ordinary everyday engine, straight out of Toyota's and Lexus. Your drag cars that you see on the strip DO NOT USE an everyday Chevy block, they are built and tuned in RACE SHOPS, and do not come in any factory vehicles. Just because it says "350" or w/e doesnt mean its a GM 350, its probably a Merlin 350 race block. BIG DIFFERENCE

They have 2JZ's running 7.53. Now look at the Camaro's, they never use the 305, 350, 400 and etc. they always swap out the engine and build it to hell and back just to run that fast. 2JZ is the way to go.

THEY ARE NOT FACTORY BLOCKS, they are race built blocks, you couldnt ever get a 5.0L to run like that, they rev too low and make shit power. YAY woohooo a 1995 pusstang GT 5.0L makes 230hp at the flywheel while the 3.0L makes 320+, and Supras are known to handle over 750+hp on stock internals, NO muscle car can do that.

Really Hp doesnt mean shit anymore. Its all tires, suspension and weight. I have seen 600HP supras own 1000Whp cameros and mustangs. So it really depends on how you build the car. And im not against american or jap motors, actually alot of drifters are putting in Lsx motors because of power to weight making it easier to throw sideways from torque.lines between muscle and import arent far anymore. Whatever is fast is fast. isnt 427 big block? I like the 383 stroker myself. nasty

My issue wih the supra boys is that they think when they are ruunning this much power that they can beat a space ship atleast thats how that act . I also laugh when they show videos of supras running way more hp then the car they are racing like it or not even highly modded supras are not unbeatable. The 383 is a great motor.

uh i was with your argument till i read that. With dry sump system for oil reason on the ls1-3 motors i have seen people make 800hp on mustang dyno, stock block WELL tuned. Though the 2jz is alot more tuner friendly block the ls1 has its advantages mainly power to weight. The 2jz is a biiiig heavy motor. Ls1 is all alluminum and weighs less then the ka24de from a 240sx. i love 2jz and imports but you have to give v8s alittle more credit for power to weight and cost its hard to beat.

For every video you have of 2000Hp v8s on the streets i have seen videos of them wrecked just as easily. See with the 2jz we have this nice thing where you can turn down the boost so the 2jz only puts out 300 or so hp because its still an inline 6. Then when you wanna RUN the car you turn the boost up and suddenly it has the power of a v12. So i would rather the car that is SAFE to drive on the streets then the 2000Hp muscle car where you put your foot down end up lane next to you.

Anyway, what is "crazy power"? 1000hp? Are you aware there are Chevy engines making 2500+ horsepower? A race prepped turbo 2JZ may get you 1500 hp, for example. But a race prepped turbo V8 can get you 2500+ hp. Actually, there are many different engines that can make "crazy power", but there's no replacement for displacement.
