I am currently in the Air Force and have been assigned to different services through ILO and JTF taskings. The Air Force does have a better quality of life and higher standards of living which appeals to a lot of people. Just because you are a Marine or in the ARMY does not make you a bad ass. If you are a cook I assure you you have no place to talk crap about the Air Force. Airman are not just covering air support, we are on the ground in the same combat capabilities as the other services.

I know the air force doesn't just consist of planes & I know they're not the only ones providing air support. The marines & army can provide air support as well. AF can have a drone scan the area ahead of a groups position and locate an IED or an ambush. Everyone has eachothers back. So every branch should respect one another

at the end of BMT your allowed to purchase a video of your entire BMT training class for that specific time you were there. At least that was an option for me after graduation, but then again that was back in 1998. ALOT of things have changed since then.

im struggling between marines and air force.....i like marines because its like a brotherhood, you have a family you learn discipline respect all the corps values....and its very demanding work and physical that i like it keeps me focused and on top....the air force i really wasnt into much at first, but now i really see they take care of their own. you receive top $ education...its more of a thinking kind of job but pays well espically when you go in with a degree....ANY SUGGESTIONS????!!!!

Fucking retards rofl. Airforce does not mean air only. They are trained with standard AR15's and 9mm's for cqb and ground field combat. Also they are trained as medics. Just because its the airforce doesnt mean they only fight in the air. Sometime they have to HALO jump (high altitude low opening) into combat. @jajabinks1611 branch of the military, one must attend college and obtain a masters degree. this being said, those big ass helicopters are probably the most difficult things to fly in the world. not any officer can do that. even to become a fixed-wing pilot, or jet pilot, one must have outstanding grades, and excel in leadership and communication skills. HOWEVER, you dont need to be an officer to get INTO one.

To anybody thinking of joining... it is a great opportunity to serve your country and get some life experience under your belt. Ahh the good old days. I just got out of tech school less than a month ago, and I sort of miss these days. Operational AF is too much like being a civilian, I'm trained for 3 months to be seaming with discipline, then I hit operational and it's nearly useless

Are standards are higher than any other service. Even the medical personell at our process stations say they DQ alot of Marine applicants cause we are too physically demanding than any other branch of service. These are the facts, look at the internet, the facts are there. Historically we are the best.

@pinche1994 My logic to this is because really in the end, they all are really trained to be infantry. They're training was more intense, and the branch is more selective than others. Does this make the branch better? No, because every branch serves a purpose just like the Spec Ops of each branch. No one is really superior, loseing any of them would weaken our military. If one was truly so superior we'd drop the branch and focus on the better one. But they support each other.
This gives me SO much motivation to workout! I need to get my run and my Pushups WAY up. I am going to do it though. To join the worlds greatest Air Force is my DREAM and GOAL! i am also trying to use my Youtube videos to help motivate me to lose some weight too (even though i am in the height weight standards).
@badacyborg i am not yet enlisted, I still feel that I am not close enough to where I to be stamina-whys to enlist yet (i am 5'11" and 157lbs and i am coming down from being 182). If everything goes well I should be feeling confident enough in myself to enlist in August or September, and then I would love to be sent to Basic in the winter or spring.
I'm gonna join this one day. They even pay for your college and help your life. Some comments say its for cowards, but there are many types of the "U.S.A.F.". When I was in basic at Lackland AFB, 1970 ,our flight (squad) waited in line one day to run the obstacle course.... the Boy Scouts from San Antonio were using it. I did notice the Scouts didn't have to belly crawl through the cages with explosions going off all around them or enter the gas chamber,remove their mask,then sing America the Beautiful while trying not to choke. lol

Well with all coment below i can assure u theres no branch harder than thaMarine corps... Notice we dont go through "basic training" we do 13 weeks of boot camp... In the gas chamber its completely fogged up n when we take our gas masks off we run in place do push ups n call out cadences during all this...
@subibeto86 EACH BRANCH will do a different type of training BASED OFF of what they are needed to do. Each branch has a pivotal role in the military. Air Force is more Brains then Muscle so we arent going to waste time for something that we wont be using 24/7. Yeah we will be physically fit, but we spend time being prepared more for what our branch does to work. Marines need more muscle which is why you have Boot Camp instead. Each branch is different. Leave it at that.
@subibeto86 Paris Island isn't anywhere as hard as it used to be. Not knocking it - it's definitely not an easy experience for either branch. But after the death of several recruits at Boot camp many years ago - all the services came under scrutiny and changes were made across the board. It's not the same as it was even 10 years ago.
Anyone who says there is a huge difference between the two - is wrong. And physical requirements between all the branches are just about equivalent.

Not sure where you people are getting your numbers, but talk to a recruiter, Absolute minimum nowadays for joining the airforce, is an ASVAB score of 50. As for which branch is the best? It's not about the branch it's about the individual soldier.

at the end of BMT your allowed to purchase a video of your entire BMT training class for that specific time you were there. At least that was an option for me after graduation, but then again that was back in 1998. ALOT of things have changed since then.

im struggling between marines and air force.....i like marines because its like a brotherhood, you have a family you learn discipline respect all the corps values....and its very demanding work and physical that i like it keeps me focused and on top....the air force i really wasnt into much at first, but now i really see they take care of their own. you receive top $ education...its more of a thinking kind of job but pays well espically when you go in with a degree....ANY SUGGESTIONS????!!!!

Fucking retards rofl. Airforce does not mean air only. They are trained with standard AR15's and 9mm's for cqb and ground field combat. Also they are trained as medics. Just because its the airforce doesnt mean they only fight in the air. Sometime they have to HALO jump (high altitude low opening) into combat. They mostly use the air for transportation rather than a fighting method. Anyways nice vid

@jajabinks1611 branch of the military, one must attend college and obtain a masters degree. this being said, those big ass helicopters are probably the most difficult things to fly in the world. not any officer can do that. even to become a fixed-wing pilot, or jet pilot, one must have outstanding grades, and excel in leadership and communication skills. HOWEVER, you dont need to be an officer to get INTO one.

Are standards are higher than any other service. Even the medical personell at our process stations say they DQ alot of Marine applicants cause we are too physically demanding than any other branch of service. These are the facts, look at the internet, the facts are there. Historically we are the best.

@pinche1994 My logic to this is because really in the end, they all are really trained to be infantry. They're training was more intense, and the branch is more selective than others. Does this make the branch better? No, because every branch serves a purpose just like the Spec Ops of each branch. No one is really superior, loseing any of them would weaken our military. If one was truly so superior we'd drop the branch and focus on the better one. But they support each other.

When I was in basic at Lackland AFB, 1970 ,our flight (squad) waited in line one day to run the obstacle course.... the Boy Scouts from San Antonio were using it. I did notice the Scouts didn't have to belly crawl through the cages with explosions going off all around them or enter the gas chamber,remove their mask,then sing America the Beautiful while trying not to choke. lol

In the gas chamber its completely fogged up n when we take our gas masks off we run in place do push ups n call out cadences during all this...

@subibeto86 EACH BRANCH will do a different type of training BASED OFF of what they are needed to do. Each branch has a pivotal role in the military. Air Force is more Brains then Muscle so we arent going to waste time for something that we wont be using 24/7. Yeah we will be physically fit, but we spend time being prepared more for what our branch does to work. Marines need more muscle which is why you have Boot Camp instead. Each branch is different. Leave it at that.

@subibeto86 Paris Island isn't anywhere as hard as it used to be. Not knocking it - it's definitely not an easy experience for either branch. But after the death of several recruits at Boot camp many years ago - all the services came under scrutiny and changes were made across the board. It's not the same as it was even 10 years ago.
Anyone who says there is a huge difference between the two - is wrong. And physical requirements between all the branches are just about equivalent.

Not sure where you people are getting your numbers, but talk to a recruiter, Absolute minimum nowadays for joining the airforce, is an ASVAB score of 50. As for which branch is the best? It's not about the branch it's about the individual soldier.

@TheDjBlitzification When I was in Afghanistan as USAF Security Forces we spent 14+ hour shifts guarding USMC helicopter mechanics who got to go back to their barracks after 8 hours of tooling around with wrenches in the air conditioning. Must be nice. Now who were the POG's there? Hoorah buddy. 9 US Airmen were killed in Kabul the other day. You callin' them POG's? Don't get me wrong, I respect the Corps along with any branch very much;just not shit-talkers who probably never been downrange.
