The reason why there are no natural predators because hunters kill them (they are competition plus they will reduce deer population in healthy matter (another no no for sports hunters). I just googled Michigan and food plots and I see plenty of them with the use of QDM as well. I didn't see anything on here about corn other then the pics of it. Corn and soybeans are not planted just for wildlife. They are planted for livestock, fuel, soy products, and a lot of other stuff. Deer do feed on beans in the spring and summer though and they feed on corn from the summer until its harvested and they still feed on whats left of the corn stalk after it has been harvested.

We may hunt over or near harvested corn fields, but if you come to the midwest you will see corn field after cornfield and bean field after bean field. These are planted not for the deer, but for livestock and humans. Deer do feed in them though, but they arent grown for the deer.

DNR complains to not feed deer because deer population will grow but seems you can put food plots and supplement feeding.
