Just added Fios to companies that I hate. I'm watching TV and an ad shows up on the screen for Fios DURING the actual show!! Bad enough I have to watch any commercials but now DURING the show?!?!
@CliftonPhotographer 1) The company is called Verizon, not FiOS / 2) That was the fault of the channel provider or your cable company inserting commercials at the wrong time, not Verizon's 3) Use your brain instead of posting idiotic comments again
be careful with verizon.i called to cancell my service in jan 2009 .tOOK apond them selves and kept my service on until may 2009. i had taken the boxes off of my tv so did not know thAT IT WAS STILL ON.I WENT OUTSIDE AND SAW A GUY DISCONNECT IT AROUND END OF APRIL BEGENINNING OF .MAY.I WAS STILL BEING CHARGED FOR THOSE MThs..i tryed to talk to costumer service she said that they chared me for june as will. so people look at ur bills with this company.

dont listen to BRICKBREEZY. Fios unlike comcast, brings the fiber straight to your home. other companies who claim to be fiber optic, use Verizon's fiber optics as a matter of fact. the only thing is that those lines are already laid down "along the sidewalks" and they use it from there, vs. fios, they bring it straight to the home. which means, yeah, the signals ARE delivered faster...perfect example: picture a pendulum clock. the faster is goes, the more clear the time appears. if you slow it
im thinking of dumping comcast- but 1st, how is it true Fios if its goes into coax cable just like comcast uses.. fios outside but coax cable on the TV???
yeah, thats right. it does go into the same coax cable, however, the signals are still being DELIVERED to that coax cable, faster, BECAUSE the fiber is straight to the home, in the box outside called the (ONT) Optical Network Terminal. They replace your current (NID) Network Interface Device with that. Think of it liiiiiike... a plane emergency. would you rather walk DOWN some stairs(cable), or use a slide(fiber optics). i hope this helps!
my mom has comcast and my brother has Fios dont get fooled by marketing people its the same fucking thing google it my mom and brother even have the same HD box oh and comcast has a service update for the HD box with sexy themes LOL and a on screen caller ID and messaging system but i like them both no faster no slower they both are fast as hell
This new upgrade is terrible. It takes about 5-10 seconds to change a channel. That stupid obnoxious channel bar and the sluggish "bells and whistles" make watching TV a frustrating experience. I hope these gliches will be worked out. ps...there's no way to change these imposed options.
I wish I had Fiostv, but my parents have STUPID Dish Network as well as Comcast. Fios has TRUE Digital quality picture with FULL Resolution and FULL BITRATE.

Is the fast forward and rewind smoother with the new software? And is there still a lag when you press a button on the remote?
We are supposed to get the upgrade next week, but other than the great picture, we are disappointed with the DVR coming from the Directv/Tivo combo.
