  • I think one of the best ways to give back is to go to familysearch org and click on the :indexing" tab at the top. You get to read images off of pc images of original documents and type them in a format that they can now be accessed with a computer search. They are short projects in all difficulty levels. Thanks to those that do this work because they make every thing we search on the computer possible.

  • Great video - I also like both references that you made for giving back to the Genealogy Community.

  • Thank you for posting this. I am on my local county mailing list on usgenweb & volunteer for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. I am curious about ebay, I don't care about the money but do they charge to list yourself there?

  • They do charge for you to sell something, but the charges can be very small. It really depends on how fancy you want your post to look and what features you want to include.

Ebay itself doesn't charge to buy something (Obviously you gotta pay for the item/shipping thouhg). There are SO many great things you can find are there. It just takes some time to look for it.

  • Great! Some good points here. I have an eBay listing that I put up from time to time. I usually charge $5 (Australian) for a look up etc. Giving is the best way to receive - what goes around comes around....

  • Aww thank you!

Yes, I recently discovered the amazing things that ebay can do for a genealogist.

I had a brick wall that I have been working on for a while and I paid a wonderful lady only $3 and she helped me out immensely!
