I know, but it's in a major city and they could have had someone that would at least do their job and let him talk. It's okay, even one of the few interviews with Aphex Twin the interviewer was a complete asshat/space case.
@rushnerd I think I hear them mention that this was being broadcast live at 2 in the morning so he was probably a prime of example of the kind of guys who watched the show. I think he did a good job. I've never seen any other show so I can only base my oppinion on this but he seems to be making Bill comfortable enough to say what he wants while still moving the subject along when he has to. I think this gives a nice little bit of insight into who Bill was at the time.
I think one of those Australian people in the compound in Waco was in the Final 24 documentary about it. It should still be on youtube if you wanna check it out.
You'd think in the 21st fucking century we wouldn't be dealing with these types of problems. The only true way to get rid of all this bullshit is to overthrow our hypocritical government, and pray to god that the people who take over don't get corrupt themselves and thus the process repeats.
No. This is not gonna work. This way history will repeat itself and we will not evolve to freedom. The only way is to create society made from self-governing and self-responsible individuals, so the govermantal structures of biurocracy and control are obsolete. This however is possible only outside the game of competition. This is why competition mode is so strongly advertised by goverments (sports events, creating atmosphere of fear...); they want to keep us divided and weak.
it's funny, he says people should read chomsky, yet chomsky doesn't believe in a plot for the kennedy assassination. Are those just differences in opinion?
its such a tragedy he was pushed to the fringe the way he was, This type of show should have been the starting point for his voice not the end. Credit to the guys who put their time into the show but his voice needed a much wider ear.( I know, how naive of me), His frustration is clearly apparent about where we find ourselves and some of those callers who although appear to agree with him don't grasp what Bill Hicks is all about.
55:25 - The souless, brainless minions of the New Vorld Ordah murdering a church full of human beings in broad daylight on a ritualistic day on the Illuminati calendar.
I will continue to love Bill Hicks the comedian and the man because he challenges all my little preconceptions and makes me leave my comfort zone. Great comedy always challenges as it entertains and I know its been said a thousand times, but is worth repeating, the world is a diminshed place without the presence and wit of Mr Hicks.
@petestrat07 Yeah, but Debbie Gibson would still have been be even huge-r. The advent of the Internet hasn't done much to enlighten and educate us; it's just another medium, just more of everything. It's our actions, our use of the information that determine what will happen next.
For the first time in human history, we have a practical, user-friendly, affordable, reliable, ever growing window to all the knowledge in the world! And what do most of us only ever do with it?
@petestrat07 He would have still been ignored and still as bitter. If the spotlight hit him and people wanted to hear him they would have. If he became popular he would have become uncool. And then he would suck. Then you wouldn't be posting there here instead your a niche comedy nerd.
Miss You Bill..on the Host..i like him, intelligent enough and respectful. I think he does well. the set on the other hand lol..armchair and couch might have looked better. The guy interviewing doesn't look too comfortable on that tiny chair.
@MrSpunkyspunky so does Manchester, lets not let our stupid emotions go at each other again because of football or where we live, were all indivdual. :)
He seems strange in this footage, maybe its the illness, but i think he looks kinda lost... and he says some very angry things about the industry later. I dont know... but watching this late footage of great artists like him always creeps me out.
Did Bill ever get to do the show in England? I think he knew he had cancer already when he did this interview. The greats always die young... I wish he was still alive, he would have so much material to work with.
I cannot get over that fucking host, it's like they got someone who had no idea what they were doing.
