I have dreads, and i got them by washing my hair first, drying it completely, brushing it all straight, then seperating my hair into sections starting at the bottom of my head, then backcoming them and then putting elastic at the ends (for first few weeks) and thats it. just give them time then, and dont wash them in residue filled shampoos.... i use dreadhead shampoo... within time they will lock nice... be prepared for fuzz at first but its worth it.
Wax is disgusting it makes your hair stick together and it takes longer to lock. You had gorgeous dreads, but your hair looks nice without them too. Great song btw.

I am saddened by this. But I can totally relate. Every day for the first 6-8 months or so I thought about either cutting mine off or taking them out. But then I would have nightmares that I actually did cut them off, and would wake up screaming cuz I thought they were gone. So now I realize that I like them way too much to go through with it. I'm glad you had the journey you did. You had some amazing locks. Keep it real!

no u cannot make dreadlocks with gel and hairspray....dont use any products..just stop combing and using conditioner for a few months
