@tommyjongen She did. The makers of the manga said she died in How To Read, and the date is close to Light's death. In the anime, how she appears in the end (in the top of the building, etc.) makes it pretty obvious. It's pretty sad, but yes.

I just found out that they dubbed this song in the english version... Who came up with this idea? The english voice actors are pretty good but it takes away all the magic from one of the best Death Note moments. It doesn't sounds creepy in english. But the english dub is the only one where this song has been dubbed too.
