The Catholic Church has no official stance for or against most aspects of evolution except that we need to look at in light of the theological principles put forth in Genesis. It does say evening and morning, but it also has it saying evening and morning before the sun was around to rise and set.

scripture states God made the light before the light source , so whats the issue . what seperates evening and morning or am and pm is time not amount of light . only thing missing was the light source so you lack a point .

the 6 day creation is directly referenced in exodus when God institutes the sabbath . he parralels the work day to his work of creation making concrete the statement of 6 literal days .
God formed man of earth and breathed life into us , in his image , in one day . evolution states we started as single cell organisms . how is that the image of God ?

if the church took the time to understand and study the theory of evolution it would recant . those in secular science who actualy are involved in the direct theory admit it is full of holes and a constant work in progress . mathamatitions site it as impossible in its chances . the laws of physics deem it impossible .

law of continuation of angular momentum ( look it up ) . we have planets , moons and galaxies rotating in opposite directions .
scientific fact : all things tend towards chaos . how is it that evolution is a forward movement .

romans tells us death came thru sin and that adam was the first sinner . was adam in Gods image when he was on top of millions of years of dead things ?
exodus tells us that we are to work 6 days and rest 1 just as God created the heavens and earth . how long is this work week and why is my day of rest so short ?
2 peter reminds us of the flood and how the earth was made . is the 1st pope a liar?

it is sad that those who claim to be of the true only church compramise scripture truth for a theory . evolution theory is in full contradiction of scripture and not just genises . if your god is the god who used evolution he is a liar and lazy . those who believe in theistic evolution have wasted their lives and have done nothing but damage to the gospel .
i did not come from a cosmic accident that had impossible mathimatical chance of happening . shame on you .
