  • GAHHH! I LOVE YOU JACKLYN WU!

    ...ahem...

  • I wish I'd had good food like this once in my life.

  • These one of my favorites movies!

  • thats a lot of food.

  • For movie try totseDOTinfo

  • What, no calorie counter?

  • Goddamnit now I'm bloody starving

  • tutti a tavola!

  • Great job! I just love these food scenes.

When the film came out on videos, I think I watched the first 4 minutes for a thousand times. The quality of that part of the tape deteriorated significantly after the weekend........X-D.... I love the food......

  • God bless the KMT for not fucking up Taiwan the way the CCP fucked up China. You can't get food of that quality in China, thanks to 60 years of oppression. Taiwan is more Chinese than China now, and better in almost every way.

I feel so fucking hungry after watching that.

  • @ninman58

C'mon, don't politicize this part of a great culture. It's all CHINESE food. Just enjoy it. Besides, taste is subjective. What u like does not imply others would agree. If so, what’s the point of argument?

Also, great food depends on great ingredients, which would differ due to geographical factors. So, again what’s the point of arguing about the ability of CCP and KMT? Surely u r not trying to tell me that the mainlanders r eating bread, right?

  • @ninman58 They've done a great job brainwashing you.

  • @ninman58 That's not true man, did you ever go to the well... "undeveloped'' parts of China? They make great food there! Also in some resevoirs they make great food. However, Taiwanese food is indeed good.

  • The "weekly ritual torture dinner"!

  • could i watch his whole thing online...where?

  • omg so violent with that fish

  • Ahhh...

  • Is it just my imagination or do alot of famous western chefs don't really know much about the intricacies of Chinese cuisine and even other Asian cuisines.

  • is it my imagination or do many famous eastern chefs dont really know much about the intricacies of french cuisine or even other western cuisines.

  • In comparison well lets see, french cuisine has become extremely popular in recent times particularly in Singapore, Malaysia and Japan so we have many Asian chefs who have become very adept at French cuisine. If there is a mega famous Asian chef adept at French cooking it would be Galvin Lim. In fact, Singaporean chef Galvin Lim is so adept with French cooking that he was inducted into the Commanderie of Côtes de Bordeaux in 2008, one of the highest recognition for chefs and sommeliers in France

  • In the 2009 Bocuse d'Or in Lyons, also known as the Culinary Olympics, the Bocuse d'Or is a very prestigious competition and its grand title is coveted by chefs everywhere. Japan came in 8th Singapore 18th out of 24 teams. William Wai of Singapore got the BRONZE BOCUSE in 1989. So there is a pool of talent in Asia for French cooking.

  • yes you're absolutly right. most so-called 'chinese food" in the US are Americanized and dont represent real Chinese food.

  • Eat your heart out Gordon Ramsey.

  • True, but hey Chinese eats dragons for breakfast including gems - deepfried of course and no report of death so far.

  • This guy is amazing!

  • It's called film editing. The guy whose face you see on the screen is veteran actor Sihung Lung. Notice that his face does not appear on the screen whenever an intricate culinary skill is shown. A professional Chinese chef doubles for the character.

  • I kinda feel bad for the rooster...he was having the time of his life and then his master kills him just to make dinner...poor rooster...

  • I wonder how many courses he's preparing..

  • i dont like chinese food, but he's skills are impressive.

  • last message to jamesmcculla

  • are you effing kidding me?

  • Because they are Mexican. What are you, ignorant?

  • ¬___¬

  • whoa, the comments on here are positive! so awesome for a change

  • chinese food is best

  • one night nothing was on the T.v and didn`t feel like going through all the channels again and so i left it on TMC and this was coming on next so i was like oh great but this scence not only made me hungry as hell but i thought it was awesome and continued watching it all thru and it wasn`t bad at all. funny how things happen like that.

  • Pleasant surprises like that are quite nice.

  • This scene at the beginning is really the best part of the movie... my favorite part is when you see how many knives he owns. Chinese cuisine pwns you all and your moms.

  • He is a very successful Chef in this film. No wonder he owns such many knives.

  • @mikedubya

After seeing that, perhaps it could pwn my mother's cooking . Then again, we're Italian, so it would be quite a battle.

    Peace.

  • @mpgorilla66

I'd love to see that fight

    would be an epic battle

  • An experience for me that I never forgot. Some movies are timeles and above all cultural divisions. This is the film that set that standard. Thanks Mr. Lee

  • One of the best Ang Lee movies...before he became too big and famous. The cooking scene is awesome :)

  • I too must say "What a GREAT Movie". I saw it for the 1st time & regret not having copied it to disk. I just wish it were dubbed in English so that I could savior all the visual detail that I missed in having to read the subtitles.

I also love your videos of CHYI YU. I have only one song by her,"Whoever Finds this I love You".

  • wow what a great movie..its been a long time since i've seen it

  • would like to know if its possible for you to upload the movie in parts? I have been looking for this movie for the longest time and cant find any

  • it's a great movie! well layed out a 'must have' in the video collection.

    i would give it a 5 out of 5 *

  • Wonderful video, thanks for the upload!

I can make all of the food in one day, but I can't guarantee to match the same level.

  • wow! that was like so kool! i think i 4got to blink. if i have to cook the way he did it will take me at least 3 days for me to finish cooking all those dishes.

  • There are so many different ways of cooking.
