Well, I have to admit I have not been a follower of this sport. I like it, especially Russian team, but here in my country, Spain, this sport is not popular. Anyway, I think is not bad for a woman to admire the aspect of an athlete (who was very good on the other hand), as usually do all men with women. If they pay attention to the sport all they care about is how good looking the players are and i will admit some men are the same way. Anothe thing I'd like to add is He was killing with the "goal getting" in an era where every goalie had a GAA of 2.00. Cause of all the clutching and grabbing and huge goalie pads.

Bure scored 58 and 59 goals, nobody came close. In today's NHL, he'd get 100 and make Ovie and Crosby look bad. Mind you, Ovie'd probably try to take his head off, but Bure woul give him the elbow so who knows

People made that up because in the last minute of game 7, he somewhat casually went back for the puck on an icing. A lot of racist hard nosed white Canadian hosers didn't like a Russian player doing things that they'd never seen before in a hockey game. They didn't like their kids like Bure and not Wayne Gretzky. That's what the guy had to deal with that's why he left, cause those type of guys were all over the NHL in Canada.
