  • In-freakin-credible! I was expecting, though, that the game on/game off switch was going to turn the lamp on and off :)

I would love to have one of those. Great job!

  • You should of made the power switch on the console the light switch and the color/B&W as a switch for a regular bulb and color LEDs

  • But can you play it? ;)

  • Great job and a brilliant idea!

    Greetings :)

  • WANT !!!! & i am an engaged lady!

  • @whitewave677 Congratulations. ;)

  • WANT !!!!

  • And the nobel prive goes to....

  • Hey bro,is this for sale?

  • no offence but seriously, how could you do that to a classic game console like an atari 2600 :(

  • Wow. That's awesome. Too bad you won't be making more.

  • Nice work.

Hey those boxes are the exact same games that I own cib.. what are the odds? :P

  • you should have made the power switch on the atari turn on the lamp.

  • A CAT!!!!

  • That is unbelievably awesome!!!

  • Best lamp ever!

  • That's way awesome!

  • Nice cat.

  • Awesome! Would be even cooler if the Atari's "on" switch turned the light on and Game Select adjusted brightness or something. :O

  • I hereby vote you for president of awesome-land!

  • Brilliant!

  • MAKE MORE AND SELL THEMM

    YOULL BE RICH!

  • Married for 1 year but been together for 4 and she's the one that wants the Atari lamp. lol

  • I'm 32, been married for ten years and would totally own an Atari lamp. Kudos doktaluv!

  • that shit is ugly

  • id buy one! thats sick

  • Yeah that lamp is pretty hideous

  • Why?

  • I like it!

  • still wearing his velcro jeepers working in walmart "electronics dept" and some of you (some) wonder why this country is so focked up.

  • baller.

  • There's a cat x3

Anyway, that's awesome. Wish I could buy it for my sis. She loves old-school game stuff.

  • That is a very cool concept and idea, looks like you put a lot of time and effort into this. Congrats on the completion , Great work as well!

  • Dude, you know that the third game on your lamp is worth like $25,000! ... too bad it doesn't work now :(

  • @themeloninc which game are you talking about?

  • Like it a lot! What a creative use out of recycled "dead" components. Though I don't see it becoming a craze like the Lava Lamp, I think I would have replaced my lava lamp for a while with this, had it been commercially available.

The preponderance of using the already existing power switch comes to mind, considering the amperage, not voltage would be the only matter in question, even a different switch in the old location would make it appropriate. Still looks cool! Kudos.

  • i got to say i wish i had one

  • Very nice! :)

  • screw all these other internet retards that are pissed because they didn't make one, this is badass! great job man!

  • I would the switches (6?) to control the lamp or lamps, that backswitch is a complete fail on the whole scene. with those 6 buttons, you could have differente light tones and intensity... Its good, but complete fail on the backswitch.

  • @tunespt the built in switches are made for 5V of DC power, they'd most likely melt if you put 110V of AC thru them.

  • @DarrellSpiceJr Yes, I know that, but nothing like a very small electronic fix to control lights with 5vdc, relays or a bit more expensive, solid relays, very easy to do. And the atari box has lots of space, it would look better, at least if I was to do such setup, I would use those switches, prolly I would also put a mains switch like this, but would use the buttons to control ligh.

  • lul.

  • NIce, but the cartridges look like that relic from Dead Space lol

  • Stupid

  • nice...

  • Nothing screams chronically single like an Atari lamp. :)

  • @mattb4rd I've been married for six years, thanks.

  • @doktaluv Had you constructed and displayed the lamp prior to your wedding, it might not have happened.

I kid of course, but the premise is sound. :)

  • @doktaluv hahaha, burned alive, mattb4rd. Hey doktaluv, how much are you willing to sell that lamp for? $500? $600?

  • @doktaluv Haha that made me laugh. You go Doktaluv. Best comeback haha

  • @doktaluv in those six years of marriage how many affairs has your wife had?

  • @doktaluv lol owned!

  • @mattb4rd Lmfao, you've been told. Hahaha.

  • @mattb4rd noting screams dumbass like sutch a comment.

  • @UberKrassMann I guess you missed the emoticon.

  • very nice.

  • Atari paddle controller for a dimmer!

  • @fouloneUK thats overkill...lol

  • Why did you not use one of the 6 totally usable switches on the front of the console to activate the lite???

  • I always feel saddened when games or game consoles have to be destroyed to make something but this is too cool it was definitely worth it for this! :D

  • T'is a sing of beauteeee

  • It's... Beautiful...

  • Damn, thats sick.
