  • this has given my an idea to create a crossbow

thank you for inspiring me and any others :)

  • very creative!

  • You could shoot ball bearing too!!

  • can you make one for me send it to 73 anderson street warracknabeal australia. postcode 3393

  • Такая чушь, пиздец

  • lol he said penatrate :3

  • bolt to the knee?

  • Nice:D

  • WTF I fell asleep I got so bored

  • put that triger on a btter crossbow

  • @flagellarpower awesome triger mechanism sorry for my english im going to post a video about my crossbow:)

  • for the last moment CROSSBOOWS ARE NOOOT FUCKING STUPID SLINGSHOTS u get that ?

  • great trigger idea! ima use it for my crossboe

  • How to escape jail

  • listen dude, lose the ruberband gun and get a life, move from your aunts basment, ditch your cat and get a girl!!!

  • u dont use rubber bands for a cross bow

  • WHY DO YOU PEOPLE KEEP CALLING SLINGSHOTS CROSSBOWS?!?!?!

  • @trapingman couldn't agree with you more mate, there is no bow involved

  • dont worry it's empty im not destroying perfectly good tootsie-rolls!!! lol haha

  • Please can you make step by step instructions?

  • wouldn't shoot with this

    looks very eer dangerous ^^

  • what you need : bunch of nails, 2 blocks of wood same size , bunchof rubber bands, paint to make it look good, and a handfull of ghetoness

  • @gurnoorkookoo Haha so true...but I will post my much-less-gheto all-metal-frame design soon.

  • @gurnoorkookoo oh shit im on the top of he list!

  • that looks so f**king sketchy

  • LOL u should smoothen your crossbow out with sand paper.. nice trigger idea

  • what kind and or color did you buy i found a quad 400 barnett corssbow stock and untill i can get a bow going i was gonna use surgical tubing i just need to know what would be best ;l

  • @bunnymansp I made a new, all-metal-frame bow that uses elastic tubing as the power storage medium. It works really well. I'll post a video soon. Tubing is definitely better than the rubber bands, go with that for sure.

  • oh this is clever a fuck this is the only trigger like this ive ever seen

  • when i clicked on the video the crossbow it looked kind of half-ass but your designs are VERY good.

  • how'd you get the gap in the middle?

  • @hohepaagee A router (no, not the WiFi things. The tool) would be the best way, but lacking a router, I used my Dremel rotary tool to form the groves, and then when I put the two peices of wood together I used a spacer while I drove the screws. I then removed this spacer once the screws were in place.

  • very very fast speeds pfft hey i have an idea go on ebay there is surgical tubng that is used for slingshots that stuff would work way better than rubber bands good luck

  • @bunnymansp I actually just bought some latex tubing and I actually constructed a new crossbow. The tubing had such power that the front arm split under tension and injured my hand. But I will soon rebuild a better version. The stuff is POWERFUL.

  • you could use ball bearings in that thing

  • @supernuetralhero Not a bad idea, really. I've put a lot of crazy things in it, including those little AAAA cells you get when you split a 9V battery open. I've also put a mini screwdriver in it. That was pretty vicious at close range. Really anything that fits down the "barrel" will fire, at least for a certain distance.

  • I would just buy some rubber tubing, like the kind you get in the exercize department of the sporting goods store or retali store. But every thing else is well to do,I like how easy it is to assemble.

  • how the fuck do you load the bolts

  • @weoponmakerpro Just slide them the f*** in! Haha, jk. Seriously, though, it's really easy to load once you get the hang of it.

  • the trigger mechanism is very ingenius kudos

  • you gave me a good idea,now i can do a trigger mechanism like a pistol's

  • i love it

  • is you name rob

  • @lewisjamesadams No, I'm not Rob.

  • @flagellarpower ohh, yeah hey rob

  • good meganism but the bow is ugly <3

  • @xxweaponsxx123 Yeah, I'll admit I didn't put a lot of time into the appearance of the device. I just figured, "what works works."

  • @flagellarpower true

  • dude, you are a genuies.

  • @Geiger32 Thanks!

  • thats great man you explain it with such detail. you are the same type of person I am loves to build and i love the trigger mechanism to. you should try to fire a bottle rocket out of it LMAO. just slide it down with the fuse in between the grove load it light the which and fire LMAO!!

  • @pyroman675 yeah, that is kind of a sweet idea. I also want to give it more power...maybe I could replace the rubber bands with surgical tubing or something.

  • @flagellarpower ha surgical tubing would be AWESOME. but this isn't realy a cross bow if you had some thing like a green branch that had spring to it then it WOULD BE AWESOME i see if i can get a video of it tonight !!!

  • @pyroman675 yeah, a true crossbow has a power limb that bends to store the energy of the draw and release it. I tried many materials for such a purpose, but none worked even close to as well as a stiff front arm attached to rubber bands. However, I have seen a video of one powered by peice of springsteel from a car suspension. The thing was amazing...it fired a bolt all the way trough like an inch of wood!

  • very good

  • I made a model just like this but smaller and with legos, If u pull the rubber bands all the way back, the lego pieces explode like 10feet away. ( I call it the self-destruct feature)

  • Yeah, it's sort of like my video of the exploding lego house! Of course, mine used firecrackers, but the principle is the same: lego fail! Always awesome.

  • Haha, I'm going to make an exploding lego house with caps from a cap gun and air freshener soon.

  • Nice. I wonder what kind of a boom could be achieved if one built a lego house like the one I build and filled it to the brim with fine-grain gunpowder. A remote ignition system would be an absolute must...perhaps one of those little electric igniters used in model rockets?

  • That's a good idea, but i don't have much money. I mainly find things around the house.

  • Same here. So yeah, I wouldn't have a source of fine-grain gunpowder. I looked up how to make gunpowder, but it's dangerous and difficult.

  • i tried making a smaller/simpler model of this but how do u make the hole for the barrel? i cant get a hole wide enough

  • There are several ways to grind the groves in the top and bottom pieces of the barrel. I used a Dremel rotary tool with a sanding wheel on the end. I set the pieces of wood up so that I could run the Dremel against a tool box to keep the line straight. I'll make a tutorial for that if you'd like, as soon as my tool bench is clean! You could also use a router or, if you're a patient person, a wood file. Like I said, I'll post a tutorial soon.

  • Thanks for the ideas but, I don't think I need a tutorial. By the way, when are you making that new crossbow?

  • Well, I'm still trying to work out a few glitches in my design. The main problem is the amazing force in the twisted portion of a torsion crossbow--this could cause damage to the device's structure. But I've figured out solutions for most of the problems...now just to get enough time to work on it!

  • Haha. That's pretty good. Just keep working on it and you'll finish eventually, it's the weekend right now so, that gives me a lot of time. I'm not sure about you

  • I got most of the materials together and did some measuring yesterday, and I'm going to try to get it done soon. The reason I've been so slow to get started is two-fold: Cold weather and homework. But I'll get it done soon.

  • what type of rubber bands do u use and where do u buy them??? do you just get the regular staples rubber bands?

  • The rubber bands I use are really durable, though some have broken, and have a lot of stretch. I use standard Office Max brand rubber bands. Specifically, they are labelled "Size 32". A 1/4 lb bag costs only two dollars. They're in a red and yellow bag. I definitely recommend them, since they are the best I have found.

  • i would prefer size 64 because they are much more thick but, thanks for the info

  • Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I just use the thinner ones because find that they fit well on the small paper clip hooks I use on the crossbow arms.

  • yea i understand what you mean, just mine doesn't have any paper clips/wires at the end so, i just use the band itself

  • Oh, I see. Yeah, then larger rubber bands are probably a much better choice. I sort of wonder how many rubber bands I can put on mine before the trigger won't hold the wire anymore. I would try it, but I could risk damaging my device.

  • it's noobie.

    it's weak.

    but the trigger is nice.

  • Well, it has enough power to stick a bolt into the side of a tree. It can shatter a thick glass bottle into a thousand pieces. The bolts will go staight through both sides of a pizza box. And as always, more rubber bands equal more power, and right now I have only 20 or 24 (not sure which), but I could get up in the thirties or fourties most likely before it was overloaded.

  • thanks for making this =]

  • No probelm. When I make my torsion crossbow, I'll try to make a tutorial while I'm acytually constructing it rather than after.

  • btw mine shot 80ft too but its on 1 band and looked nothing like a real crossbow but it doesnt work as good anymore but i think urs can shooot like 150ft with a smaller bolt

  • Yeah, you're probably right. I've created several high-velocity, long range, but low penetration bolts from light materials. Pencils go far, but the problem is that they're hard to locate once they land and they often fly erratically. The best solution is to put a weight on the front, such as a nail with the head cut off. This improves the flight pattern.

  • what i do, is i take a chopstick and break it in half and put duct tape on one end for wight like what you said

  • Good idea. Nice and light, and not very dangerous. Although I don't want mine to be dangerous per se, I like the bolts to penetrate their target (say, cardboard). But I have made a few out of straight-stalked weeds, which have a long firing distance, but little penetrating power.

  • When i tried, it penetrated really good, just have to make sure its a thick choptick

  • Into cardboard I'm guessing? I always use corrogated cardboard as my benchmark for measuring stopping power. Just a few minutes ago I got my bolt that is made from a pencil and the tip of a nail to go staight through a cardboard box and bounce off of the dresser behind it, but it only does that because I added some rubber bands.

  • Wouldn't more rubber bands make the force smaller because you would need to pull it back farther but, the trigger will always be in the same spot.

  • sweeettt
