  • Sounds very professional!

  • Thanks sounds nice. It seems to be a cheaper option to the Sennheiser ME66. Did you do the test with the pole and blimp?

  • Great review, and really nice voice over demonstration, thanks.

  • Thanks for this review :D

btw. you sound like someone who's doing the news on TV

    Homestudio29

  • you need to keep using the NTG2

  • did you do any post work to this?

  • @CDFfilms - no post production, but real-time broadcast processing via Aphex 230 and Aphex 2020MkIII.

  • The NTG-2 should have been higher, pointed down at your chin.

  • woa, sounds absolutly great. do you edit your sound with your rode ntg-2?

  • would anyone recommend this mic (new) over a used 416?

  • A very nice review :) The background music is very disturbing for me though (I've got normal hearing).

  • The dynamic mic on the boom is the RE27 right?

  • personally, they all sound the same

  • How would you compare the NTG 2 v.s. the Audio Technica AT897. used on a boom.

  • Hey thank you so much. This review has helped me out extremely well. I can't thank you enough. I'm into voice acting and video production also. Now I only need one mic for both. Thanks again.

  • great video:)

  • thanks for the informations. can you tell me between NTG 2 and beyerdynamic MCE 86 S, which one do you prefer and why?

  • Ditch the EV and stick with the Rode - it sounds better !!!!.

  • I love your sound. Can you explain what you are using in terms of pre-amp, recording software effects. I think it would be very helpful to know this information.

  • Love your reviews, but I think you're a smidge too close too the NTG-2. You're probably wanting to just include it in the shot.

  • Thanks.

Hopefully, my vids are getting better, but I'm still an audio guy learning video ; )

  • I want it ! I got to say that I read in mix magazine that engineers are recording Trailer VO's with the Sennheirs MKH 416. More of them prefer it to the U87.. I think the NTG-2 sounds even better for my commercial VO's staff. I wanted a characteristic mic like the TLM 103 but I think it much worth to expend 200 Euros for a shotgun if you'll get a gr8 sound. Isn't it ?

  • The 416 in particular is known for its ability to 'cut' while having an amazing presence.

The NTG-2 isn't quite there, but it's a lot of microphone for the money.

  • Thanks for the review! Can you tell us a bit about your signal path for audio in this vid? Your voice track sounds awesome. Would like to emulate it!

  • how does this compare o the Senn ME66/K6 shgun mic? It's a little more, but cost notwithstanding, how do they compare for video/boom pole applications?

  • what mixer/effects cue mixer do you use?? I've seen it in other videos

  • Hello -

Do you mean the console? It's an Audioarts Engineering R-55e.

  • Great review thanks, I have been looking for a directional mic for awhile now. I think I will head over to BSW and make my purchase. Thanks Mark.

  • that mic sounds great!

  • Always enjoy your videos! Just gotta say that you need to look into the camera as you talk and not the screen viewer/display. Regardless 5/5 star vid!

  • Ha... Laura agrees I need to work on the viewing angle.

Thanks for the 5 stars and for viewing!
